I was just posing the question
I don't think there will be an RS version - just a GT4 as the entry-level GT product (with a manual box only to slow it down). That's where it sits in the lineup.

I still thinking a GT4RS is on the way. Make hay while the sun shines....

Carbon is being used a lot more on this new car apparently and I've heard that as a result of the more expensive materials plus engine developments that the price will be quite a bit more expensive than the last one.
As I've said, my cleaning lady who is also a cleaner at Porsche says it's a 4 litre N/A flat 6. I've been told that it's a development of the gt3 unit with some different internals.
I was told that it really should be a GT4 RS considering the developments but it's not.
Make of that what you will. Expensive materials and more aero looks plausible to me in terms of the exterior shots.

well if this is going to be just a standard gt4, the RS should be something else.
Did they tell why it wont be called a GT4RS?

Along the same timeline as the GT4, I imagine...

Based on these pictures and the last spyder/gt4 similarities, i'd say the first pics i posted are of the GT4 and the recent ones are GT4RS.http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a...
Perhaps a GT4/Spyder with F4T and GT4RS with 4.0?

Same GTS front bumper again. Strange. I guess they could swap it out pre-launch but it seems odd. Previous GT mules have always had the correct bodywork on them.
The spyder looks too complete to be altered much. I'd say the only thing which will be different is the exhaust and rear diffuser(or at least i hope). Have a GT3 and GT3RS ever been launched together before?
Or maybe a limited amount built like 911R?

IMHO the first pics are the finished car. The second pics are an earlier development mule with bodywork they've decided against - it's clearly much more roughly finished.
I cant see why they would have allowed photos to be taken of the second one if its not to be built. These "spy shots" are probably set up by Porsche to start building the excitement, hence no video taken and no sound available. If they were taken by a enthusiast, the person who took them must know the whole Porsche owners community is anxiously waiting to find out which engine it is going to get!Guess we'll find out in next 2-3 months.

I think the first pic with GTS front is GT4 and the second pic is GT4RS.
I can't see any reason why they would be releasing spy shots of the same car with different fronts.
I think we'll see both cars at Geneva in March possibly with GT3RS.
If you look at the spy shots of the GT3RS it has duck tape in the same area as on the second set of pics. For this reason i think this will be a GT4RS. Also according to Fokkers source the new car will be quite a bit more expensive than the last GT4 with carbon and GT3 engine which also leads me to think it will be GT4RS.
I could be totally wrong again. I thought the GT4RS was going to be launched this year in March!

People... Mules are Mules... They are borrowing parts from other models (GTS) to disguise what is really happening. It's not that difficult to understand. The 981 GT4/Spyder was never on the road in full production form (Side Intake Scoops, Rear Spoiler and Rear Diffuser were not revealed until official debut).
Image from May 2014, 10 months before launch. Pretty much the same car that i got delivered to me with exception of wheels, Side scoops and spoiler ends.
