Afternoon All, I'm Greg and new on the forums.

I have recently purchased a late 2011 987.2 Cayman S with PDK (with Paddles), Sports Chrono+, PASM, Bose, Bi-Xenons and a few other options. It's done 53000 miles with FPSH and in really good nick overall.

So far I've given it a full service with Spark Plugs (Brookspeed Eastleigh), Brake fluid change, new PS2s on the front and full wheel alignment. I've also added a Zunsport front grille set and today a K&N air filter.

Even with the air filter having been replaced at the service 2 weeks ago the car feels much smoother with the K&N fitted. I've seen lots of posts saying these make no real difference but wanted to ask if anyone else has had the same experience as me?

Hi Samwell

It's been great so far and looking forward to racking up the miles with a few overseas trips, the first one will be a trip to Belgium in April to get a Carnewal exhaust fitted. :-)

Glad to hear you had a similar experience to me with the K&N, I've used them on other cars in the past and have always noticed a subtle difference in engine tone and accelerator responsiveness, especially on my last car, a V8 S5. As you say, it may well be a placebo effect but happy I fitted it nevertheless.

Thanks for your responses, I'm going to keep my appointment with Gert over at Carnewal as he's only a couple of hundred miles away (or so) for me to travel. I also got the Eurotunnel for £21 each way which is a bargain.

I agree there are more convenient ways to get this installed but I'm looking forward to the drive there and listening to the new and improved exhaust note on the way back. :-)

As an aside, Gert will also replace my rusty exhaust bolts (with new gasket) for only a few € in addition to the exhaust, so it's a win-win.
