Wanted to own a Porsche since I was a kid. Finally at a stage in my life where I can afford one, and had high expectations from the brand - having owned Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi, Mercedes and had good experiences - so expected something next level when moving up the brand ranks.

Prior to purchasing a Porsche I'd heard rumours the sales process was unbelievable, special treats throughout, regular updates along the way to build the anticipation of delivery - yet I've had nothing? I've not been overwhelmed (as yet) by the service I've received so far. In fact I've been the one chasing for updates if anything - I get zero comms. The attitude has very much been me chasing them, and one-way comms throughout where messages aren't returned etc.

It generally feels as if the cars will sell themselves anyway, so the dealership have this strange 'take it or leave it' and you chase us attitude - I find it quite bizarre given this one of the most expensive cars I've ever bought. I genuinely received a far superior experience buying from Jaguar/LandRover, Mercedes and Audi.

Am I missing something here? Or does the magic start when I collect the car? :/

Mine never replies to messages or calls. After I'd paid my deposit they said they'd keep me updated and regarding cut-off dates and updates etc.

Originally I put my slot quite far back, but I contacted them to see if there was a an earlier built-slot (as my circumstances had changed) but no-one ever got back to me.

I'd made a note of my feb lock-down date, it's past now but again non-one called me before/after it to confirm anything. I can only assume it's now moved into the next stage (whatever that stage is after lock-down?).

My OPC has been great....ordering process, hand over and after sales. Can’t fault them, I think I have a particularly good sales contact but I have the same feeling from other members of staff. I was in the OPC speccing a car three months ago, took my wife’s Boxster. While I was chatting to the sales guy the Business Manager popped over and asked how my wife was enjoying the Boxster and asked for the key so they could wash it whilst I was there. They’re very, very good at the small details. When you walk in the showroom the receptionist clearly clocks the number plate, checks if you’re a customer and greets you by your name etc. Sales guy also obviously keeps an eye on if his customers are having cars serviced/loan cars etc On more than one occasion my loan car has been upgraded to something from the Sales demo fleet without me asking or mentioning I was coming in. Handovers always been done very well, my wife got a Jo Malone gift set with her Boxster and they've always had gifts for the kids etc I think the whole “handover gift” thing is a bit unnecessary but they do it well.

Best car dealership I’ve dealt with by a good distance.
Wold add value if you named the OPC.
Silverstone.
I originally spoke to a girl at Silverstone and she was amazing, couldn't do enough for me and really knew her stuff. They had a car in stock I almost went with before deciding on a new GTS instead.

The only thing I could fault her on in the whole process was recommending I work with my nearest OPC if I'm buying new smile
