Hi All,

Having recently purchased a 2006 Cayman S I want to swap the standard CDR24 stereo for a double din Kenwood one. As far as I can tell mine is the basic system with no additional amp etc. Mine doesn't have steering wheel controls.
Does the cdr24 use standard iso connectors on the back or will I need an adaptor harness to fit? Depending what I read some seem to be a straight swap and others have needed additional power supplies from the fuse box etc.
Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated as I'm trying not to have to take the unit out to have a look before I swap it!

Magic thanks gents.
Jake I saw your write up but most of it is relevant to having a Bose system as standard. Mine is a very basic, not even an amp system. The wire up from the fuse box is for an ignition live yes? I saw in another forum someone had taken it from the climate control wiring. I guess this wouldn't be as good as direct from the supply.
Also I need to mount a dab aerial. I don't want it on the front screen (yes I know external ones are better but I don't want one!) so was going to put it on the rear quarter window. Is there any reason why I shouldn't?

Cheers,

Andy
