Boxster 2011 987 rear wing unavailable from Porsche.

I have been told that the above rear panel is NOT currently available. They suggestd it could be over 6 months. Is this a surprise to anyone. I certainly am for a modern manufacturer.
Your comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
