Does anyone have a source for a good map of the NC500 including all of the smaller road options? Those I see online look too large a scale or riddled with "things to do" and "places to visit" as if I'm an American tourist. A section by section guide with mileages, road features and 98 octane petrol stations would be far more useful.
PS just to keep on topic I have a white 981 Spyder too and I'm heading to Scotland at the start of August.
Very good, gotta love the white Spyders, think they're a 2 seconds faster to 100 PS just to keep on topic I have a white 981 Spyder too and I'm heading to Scotland at the start of August.

I think you’ll find Red is the quickest colour for a Porsche........ :-)
Congrats on the car, looks the business. These are so special.
Having done 3 Euro tours in mine, I’m also looking at doing the NC500 as soon as possible. I understand May is a good month, but interested to know what others think.
Enjoy !

No probs Manny, hope you enjoy the car as much as I did. I will certainly be back for a 981 Spyder at some point in the future. Interesting that both of the Spyders I’ve owned have ended up being bought by PHers as my last one was picked up by Taffy66 - must be only petrolheads who own them.
It is an excellent euro trip car, so would highly recommend doing that.
Thanks again for the sincere advice. Feeling like an 8 year old boy, waiting for his present..It is an excellent euro trip car, so would highly recommend doing that.
Picked up the car today and it is truely immense. Firm, comfortable ride, handling make me look like a racing driver, so composed at high speed corners. The sound is glorious once the sport button is pressed. Got a few thumbs up from bikers on the way home.
Newbie question, does the sport plus change anything on the suspension, or was that placebo?
It gives rev matching and a more aggressive exhaust note, right?

From memory sport plus also sharpens up the throttle response and engine/gearbox mounts. Runs a fair bit hotter (oil & water) too in this mode.
So probably better for track? When I tried it today, it felt like the suspension toughened up. Maybe it’s the mounts giving that feeling?

Didn’t know you were collecting yesterday as I was too! They said you’d not long left when I got there - had a little look at your CSL, awesome thing. Also daro911 if I had your car I wouldn’t be looking to change either - I was at the OPC yesterday collecting this 991 GTS - amazing car and what a colour I’m sure you’ll agree!
Yes, Jon, I would have waited to see you but had to be back in Kent by afternoon. I drove 3.5 hrs each way without stopping. The porker bucket seats are really comfy.Did not see your gts there, maybe they were final preps going on. Your new car looks nice. What did you chop in for it?
Brief update. Checking through the paper work yesterday, I noticed that the dealer had not provided an MOT. Got in contact with them and they told me that the service dept had missed this out. The car has it's original MOT that was carried out in October. This does not meet Porsche UK guidelines of providing a new MOT for an approved car.
Got in touch with Porsche UK and they pushed this back onto the dealer who is 3.5hrs away from me.
Who's responsibility is this?
I presume that Porsche UK needs to sort this out?

they really don't care about after sales, and cannot it seems fix or do anything atm !! the service and support from Porsche is lacking.
the level of any thing to do with humans at an OPC is so low I don't have words, and it seems at 3rd party as just as low.

While you may not like the gearbox or EPS, they both work and do not fail. The 981 and 982 are very reliable cars, save for the mounts as I previously mentioned. Overall quality is very good, you hardly ever hear about lemons or cars riddled with faults.
Probably why older porkers and //M cars are holding good prices..Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
