Pulled the trigger on this yesterday, hope I don’t regret it, the 410 Exige is a proper experience, but the Spyder should be more civilised day to day, RPM are doing a “fast road” geo and fitting adjustable rear arms before I collect it.
Following the test drive I thought a set of 19” rims might improve the ride and handling, anybody gone down this route?

Why would 19” reduce grip levels ?

What 19” would do if you kept the same profile tyre would lower the in gear speeds which would be a massive plus point.
But you would get a larger arch gap.

Swapping to 19” and swapping the tyre profile to keep the dia the same would NOT reduce grip levels.

All these cars I have seen are on P-zero oem anyway so 1st mod is a proper set of tyres and a remap on the detuned engine.
410bhp waiting to get out for £700.
Previous cars have driven better on standard (smaller) wheels rather than the bling option (increased profile, so a bit more supple over poor roads), grip levels are obviously dependent on tyre fitment, this one is on PS4S, but was thinking 19” rims with cup 2 tyres would work well (have them on the Exige and they’re not as bad in the wet as people say).
Very interested in the tune, who offers it?

Nice car as good as anything up for sale at the moment you will not regret it.
It’s over list and none OPC for £69k for a car which was £66k list ish. It looks very poor value to me.

I would have bought this one and saved £5k.

But the one I bought is covered by Porsche warranty until 2022, is a year newer, done 3k fewer miles, doesn’t have chavvy black rims, is getting a full fast road geo and I didn’t pay the sticker price 😀

Thanks, I’ll take a look, the ride quality was very much a first impression, having dropped down in wheel diameter by an inch on previous Monaro, M3, and 1 series, and with the Exige having much more air between driver and road I’m happy to take a punt on some lightweight 19” rims.
Point taken on the remap, although it does seem that to make gains the inlet and throttle body need replacing as well, so probably wait until warranty expires.
