I thought I'd start a new thread on this as it was discussed within the 992 GT3 section but it's better here:

718 GT4 and Spyder also has the cold engine blue light symbol btw which always shows irrespective of mileage and whether the car is run in or not same as all Porsche GTs.

I have a MY2020 718 GT4 and I definitely don't have this light. The image above is from a MY2021 718 GT4.

Does anyone with a MY2020 718 GT4 or Spyder have this blue light appear with a cold engine? I've done just under 5k miles on the car and I've never once seen the light (as it were!) - has anyone else found the same?

Cheers all, very odd then. Must have been a software upgrade/change in the MY2021 cars?

Hmm, strange then. I wonder why some cars do it and not others?

Yep, the fast idle/cold start/valves open/tractor engine noise is there on startup on my car for sure. Blue light seems to be a MY2021 thing then, although the PEC cars are MY2020 unless they've changed them from the original blue and yellow cars.

Mine has the automatic speed recognition, maybe the speed symbol covers the blue engine light?

Same here Romo, but the blue light is in the lower portion of the display so it would not be covered.

You have a MY2021 though I think, so you should have the blue light? If not, it may be it's not present if you have the speed limit recognition system.

Thanks G, so that rules that out!

Romo - do you have a MY2021 car? I think you do as it's PDK.

I wonder why some cars have it and some don't then. Very odd.

According to the manual for the Spyder the blue light refers to the catalysts. It goes out when they are up to temperature.
Cheers. No such reference in my manual, publish date 11/2019. I suspect yours is an update?
