Hi all, A week ago I became the proud owner of a 2006 987 Cayman and now I'm a very worried one! After a 200 mile drive I didn't notice any issues but then 3 days later I started her up and got a message flashing up on the dash 'Tiptronic Emergency Run' and the gear indicator was flashing on 4th. I didn't try to drive it but switched off and then started again and the message was gone. After letting it warm up I took it for a short drive and all seemed fine. The only thing I've noticed in the couple of days since is that I had to move it forward on the driveway and it seemed to be pulling against the brakes when put into drive or reverse without any accelerator. Naturally I've got it booked in with a specialist next week to take a look at it and do a major service since it's almost due. They suggested it could just need a transmission fluid change. Has anyone else had this issue? And what was the resolution? I can't seem to find that much around online. Cheers!

Cheers for the reply soxboy. I took the car in this week and the diagnosis is a faulty selector switch so will be getting that replaced. They also came back with a suggestion that I need my coolant pipes replaced and a new shock absorber. Yikes! Time to take a deep breath. Best of luck with your boxster.

Agreed on getting the pair done usually but in this case the other side is basically brand new (previous owner had it done not long ago) clearly they didn't think the same way....
