Just wondered if anyone had managed to place an order recently or have they more or less dried up completely now?

finmac has a manual 718 GT4 I think?

So I guess they'd like to switch it for a PDK version or are wondering if production is ending, which it may well do very soon as the GT4RS is launching next month (apparently).
Yes, a manual I have, to be honest I don’t think I’d go PDK, personal preference as the manual makes the car for me (even with the crazy gearing!).

Yea a general question as to any dregs of orders for new build still circulating or whether it’s effectively game over for the GT4? Suspect there will be penny numbers of new GT4 registered as 2022 cars?

That's what I've been told... woohoo
Going to be as scarce as hens teeth I suspect, sadly

I did ask my OPC about GT4 production ending and they've heard nothing from Porsche to suggest it will end any time soon.
Several folks have said in the dealer systems the GT4 is showing as no longer available to order, but it's not over until the fat lady sings! laugh
That’s very true!

I think I read somewhere that the latest Spyder/GT4 were louder than the earlier ones - not sure if that’s BS though, anyone aware?

BS. It came from a MaxRevs video on YouTube but he was comparing a Spyder with a GT4. I believe the lack of a fixed cabin changed the acoustics rather than a change on Porsche's end in the exhausts.
Here's the video

This thread prompted me to contact my dealer to ask how my deposit/place/order was progressing.

When I placed my deposit/order in the 2nd week of August this year, I was 5th on the waiting list for a build allocation. At the time they were waiting for Oct21/Nov21/Dec21 allocations.

As of today (2 months later), I am now apparently 3rd on the list, with all allocation for Q421 been & gone. The list apparently is now 15+ long, but he said that because I am "Top 3", I should expect to get an allocation for Q122 if Porsche continue builds. There is apparently no indication from Porsche that they are stopping or thinking of stopping GT4 production so he's carrying on as if they will be continuing GT4 production. He said he should know mid/end Dec what Q122 allocations will look like and if I am going to get a car.

Which dealer is this? I was told I was 4th for a Spyder at the end of July when I put my deposit down, will report back after asking for an update.
I was told that GT4 and Spyder are greyed out on ordering system indicating that are no longer available to order.
They were greyed out - saw it myself. Apparently that’s been lifted for now with a few final GT4s left filtering through next year. It’s definitely the swan song now though. Spyder is, as before, even harder to get an allocation for.

Not locked yet which is not ideal…..
With the news from my dealer that I probably won't be getting an allocation for at least another couple of months, I've put myself on a ban from using the configurator. Over the past 2 months I've spent waaaay too much of my time on there, and all I've managed to do is tie myself up in undecided knots. headache

getmecoat
How much had you got the car up to?!

Sorry, just scrolled back up and seen your spec! Can I ask why you deleted the GT4 badge please?
Two things I dislike about my car (for what it’s worth) I wish I’d gone for a reversing camera instead of just the sensors also the standard climate control is rubbish control wise and I wish I had gone for the dual one where you can set the actual temperature.

Was in my OPC today sorting out a few things and we had a look at the Porsche model availability screen. The GT4 and the Spyder are still grayed out but they now say “limited availability” again. Which is different to a month or so back when it was “do not order “. Which suggests to me that there will be some Q1 allocations coming through.
Who knows?
I agree, things defo seem to have changed a little at least with a handful of slots dodging around next year, I suspect I may be lucky enough again at some point next year. One of the very last would be nice to get for sure. Then again who knows really!

The exhaust noise is the only sound that matters in a GT car smile
I also feel that metallic paint doesn't belong on a GT car either, but that's another discussion wink
Yes I agree on the metallic paint, especially GT Silver on a Weissach RS, sooo naff, in fact I'm ashamed to go out in mine eek

Now Guards Red is something else on a GT4 smile
I feel that GT cars need bold colours to contrast the black scoops/vents etc. Guards is my current colour, although I may cross over to the dark side and go for Speed Yellow next time round );

I've had a Deposit in since June this year for a car, still haven't had an allocation yet so emailed my dealer to ask what was happening and they have said:

"I don’t yet have a confirmed build date but I can confirm you are high on the deposit list so depending on how many we get given it will not be long"

Don't want to give myself false hope, but sounds like they are still due some allocations for next year so maybe production isn't ending soon?

A man can dream! cry
There are definitely a few cars going to come through for 2022. I suspect the question for you will be how many and how far up the queue you are. Fingers crossed!

My OPC tells me that across the range they are getting twice as many cars through presently as usual for this time of year. He reckons it’s due to more chips being available to actually complete cars. Saying all that, the GT cars are still available in penny numbers and he can’t see that changing at all
