I’m currently lusting after a 981 GTS that’s 7 years old. It’s beautiful. Just over 10k on the clock.

7 years old. And £62,0000

Is this madness?

If it was a bit cheaper I would already have bought it. But it’s the best one in the market currently and it looks superb.

But 62k?

I don’t even know how much this cost new.

Is it that special?

Market is mad at the moment.

In July 2020 I paid £ 39,750 for my Speed Yellow Boxster GTS from Ashgoods, car had 25k ish miles on the clock, full loaded with GTS Interior and carbon trim. Beautiful car, on X73 suspension.

Sold it back to them a year later for a hefty profit and it sold immediately for just under £ 50k.

As said above, at this level, maybe £55k a low miles on is worth it (they are brilliant), not so sure over £60k, even with low miles.

However, for the right person, the right colour and spec I'm sure someone will be persuaded.

Fab little sports cars.
Wow.
Feeling I’ve missed the boat a bit and now all that’s left are those mega expensive gondola rides…. hehe

That was real value and must have felt amazing to make a profit.

7 years old, only 10k miles, yet 6 previous owners. I know such cars tend to change hands more often than run of the mill stuff, but is this normal and no cause for concern?
No worries from a franchise for me. I’ve noticed they sell a lot of 4/5 owner Boxsters

This is a Porsche sub forum. Not Audi. Or any other brand that are probably better value for money or even perhaps better cars.

Odd as the carmine reds always see, to be the most expensive.

Assume we are looking for this button? For auto? Why does it say ‘sync’?

Most of the GTS on auto trader don’t have it.

To the OP - I know Brooklands - have done servicing and parts there. They are great guys and I like the fact it’s an independent but Porsche approved

Every time I’ve been there I’ve looked at the prices on their used stock and thought they were toppy

If I were you I’d buy one from Ashgood (generally cheap) RPM or JZM and then pay Brooklands for a 113pt check and a warranty.

Eg the carmine red one on AT with 18k miles which also has climate control. Not a fan of turbo wheels personally but apart from that you would be £12k to the good if you can get it for £50k, warranty etc is about £1500 all in for 2 years. 18k miles is still low for a 7 year old car!

Agreed turbo wheels are gash. hehe I quite like white cars but the wife has a white TTS so would look naff parked alongside. I live the deep carmine red too. White cars also seem not to be cherished…. Check the white BGTS on auto trader which is cheaper…. But has none Porsche servicing and ‘RADAR’ brand tyres! I assume these are some ultra high performance brand??? hehe

Yeah that’s the other car what I’ve been looking at to be fair.
The other car is I think in Glasgow which is a long haul for me.

I think you've nailed it with the word ‘patience’.

GTS's are close to £40K already. After the winter there will be some starting with a 3.
Are they? I don’t see any less than £50k on AT.
There were some. But recently they’ve hardens into the 50s.

There was one on there that was 40s a few days ago. But it didn’t have full PSH.

huh?

£44K

there are currently 7 x 981 GTS starting with a 4. and x4 on PH
Most around mid 40's of that selection.

I have seen low 40's. Starting with a 3 is quite possible.
I think he means Boxsters. Not Caymans, which are worth less.
Sorry yes I didn’t specifically say Boxsters in the OP but this thread is only about Boxster GTS.

There’s a couple starting at £49k but everything else is higher.

I have no interest in Cayman.

It’s interesting talking about deal breakers.
Everyone’s different. Aircon for me is fine either way….
My bmw 4 series have climate, my Audi TTS has manual.
Doesn’t bother me.

One thing that does bother me is for example this:
Not a GTS, but this looks lovely…..

But then…. NOPE

Absolutely hate these colourful interiors.

OP here.

I note a couple more higher mileage GTS’ on auto trader this morning, private sellers. End of summer sales or people deprioritising for coming recession (or worst) perhaps?

Have also been looking at high spec-ed Boxster S instead as power difference is marginal. Love the yellow S for sale at Redline up in Knarebrook. Just a little expensive and a long way away from me to go and see. But a lovely car. It’s missing Bose though which concerns me. Everything else is there for me though. Gorgeous car. Not usually my colour choice.

What are regular S tuning options? Anything g worth considering? Where does the GTS get its extra bop from?

Almost no difference in performance between the S and the GTS, not worth worrying about in the real world, both sound glorious.
As another poster has said, the full leather trim is a must over the basic plastic dashboard.
Hadn’t considered that.

Have you considered the Solihull car on A/T, looks very well cared for, ceramic coated, Porsche warranty until 2024 and 10k less.
This one is now for sale at a dealer.
Yes I saw. Is it more expensive?

Don’t like the spider spoiler

To the OP, did you decide you had gone mad?
I noticed another car entering at 62k now.

I have come to the conclusion that these are too much money at over 60k. For me at least.

apologies for a self interested post, but my Guards Red 2015 BGTS as pictured earlier in this thread has just gone live on AT. Mega spec, 39k miles, FPSH
Including photo of a cheesy grinning Dan…!

Not seen either PCCB or carbon buckets before.

You need better photos to make it stand out more mate.

yes I did a rush job there off my phone. better ones will follow, eg:

Why selling Dan? Looks like the kind of car to keep forever…..?

So I dont really know anything about living with pccbs. How often, compared to regular ion disks and normal pads, do they need replacing?

They don’t rust which is nice, but I heard they can crack? Anything else damage them?

Assuming still horrendously expensive to replace?
