Anyone Sold a GT4 into Trade recently Please?
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Please reply via PM if it's more appt given the question I am asking.
I have been offered a very special early 911 "off-market" it will require a raid on the piggy bank and selling my manual Shark GT4 Clubsport to move on it.
I've rung a couple of OPCs and checked the usual online players (dire offers as they completely ignore spec etc) - it appears that either no-one is buying or will only buy at stupid money (online portals)
I know the market is soft, its the wrong time of year etc. just so I might recognise a decent offer when I see it I am interested in any actual recent selling experiences from this forum via PM please.
I would be grateful if this thread didn't turn into another market/futures speculation thread (please).
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

My 2021 13,500 mile GT4 PDK sold to OPC for £72,000 last month. Was offered £71,000 by a different OPC a few weeks before. A third OPC said they’d offer “about £70,000” and would call me back for specifics. Never heard from them again.
I had originally used Carwow, who ‘sold’ my car to an independent for £73,500. Dealer turned up to collect (a week later than agreed), claimed the drivers door had been repainted (it hadn’t) and the tyres were wearing unevenly (they weren’t). Wanted to “do me a favour” and take it away for £70,000. Told him to Foxtrot Oscar. Avoid the Carwow service like the plague.
For context. I almost bought an Emira in May. Lotus offered £81,000 trade in back then.
I forgot to add. OPC had my car up for £80k - it sold within a week.
Many thanks for this, it’s exactly the kind of info I was hoping for.I had originally used Carwow, who ‘sold’ my car to an independent for £73,500. Give Karl Meyer a call. He's a buyer for Porsche OPCs and has bought a couple of cars off me at very good money over the last couple of years https://www.theporschebuyer.com . He's also worked on my behalf buying a couple of cars too. Highly recommended
Thanks willdo, I think he has an advert in Porsche Post too....Armitage.Shanks said:
They must have been offsetting the profit in the spyder. The trade to retail spread with an OPC is usually £10k. So if he was offered anything £70k+ that’s generous.
If the GT4 is mint and can go straight into an OPC showroom I’d ring a few dealerships. They were actively buying stock last year but I suspect eased off now. Those online WBAC like portals are a waste of time for here cars. Give Joe at Supercar Sourcing a call. He buys and has customers waiting for certain models.

This post has really helped so thx for all submissions both public and pm - I’ve concluded that I’ll keep mine as I’m not taking a significant needless loss. I have a first world problem for which I’m very grateful - I either buy a nice restored ‘72 911T and keep the GT4 or sell it and buy a superb original ‘72 911S…..neither is a hardship tbh :-)

Thanks to all who have contacted me regarding this post.I have decided that given the state of the market and my unrealistic price expectations I will keep the GT4 and embrace it's capabilities rather than moaning about it (those that know me well on here know what I'm talking about :-))
Thanks to all and all the best for the festive and 2024!
