ok as per other threads, i'm now watching PH classifieds daily, and starting to look around, but any specific forums or registers worth joining where cars come up for sale privately? or any well thought of dealers who specialise?
cheers
If you're interested in a 964 you'd be well advised to speak to Frank AKA Black Betty over on Rennlist or through the L90 964 owners group on Facebook. cheers
A wealth of information and good cars do change hands under the radar between members.
Best of luck

Lol a dealer would have picked that up within an hour of it being posted.....
Contact the well known specialists and register your interest, there are 3 or 4 well known / respected JZM, 911 Virgin, etc.....
911uk but members cars on there tend to go very quickly as well.

Based on current pricing that should have been a lot closer to £40k
Assuming its had the usual £5k of stuff done and no HPI stories
Hadnt had a lot done in terms of suspension and engine as it hadnt needed anything according to owner. Potentially might have needed a bit spending but looked cheapAssuming its had the usual £5k of stuff done and no HPI stories

the above keep catching my eye!
seen a few higher mileage cars advertised tho (964 possibly) with mention of top end rebuilds as though its expected above 100k miles, is there generally a need and is it any particular engine?

what are the tiptronic like to drive? not that i'd want one particularly, the 6 speed box sounds like the one to have. obviously the autos look cheaper thats all.
For manual cars, 964s are 5 speed, 993s are 6 speed.rallyeman said:

This is my car for sale. I too think it's under valued but I needed a certain figure to get into an Aston Martin Vantage.
I was offered a low ball figure by a dealer for PX so wanted a bit more.
I've had a few enquires, most of them just time wasters with stupid questions (how much is insurance, what's the lowest price I'll take etc etc etc)
I'm thinking I'll just keep the car I do really like it. I know the tip gets a lot of criticism on here but for me it's 90% petfect.
Traffic around my area is terrible so it is a bliss. I do miss the manual change when I'm hooning around though.
I honestly think someone has missed a bargain with this car.
If it was manual I'd be coming to view. Good luck with the sale I was offered a low ball figure by a dealer for PX so wanted a bit more.

What about this one .... ok its a Targa. which is no bad thing, and only 90K miles and an absolute bargain price if it checks out...... Euros to £ that's around 26K.
Don't write off the interior either. I believe that's 'Chestnut'. It grows on you, and its better in the flesh than in the photos.

this car was mentioned elsewhere i think. i dont like the exhaust tips and its got a half cage fitted although the seller does seem genuine and its not been tracked or raced, the previous owner had one fitted and the carpets sorted around it. i like the colour of the car and it looks very tidy, but probably not the one for me as yet.

Comments like these make me wonder whether you're serious!this car was mentioned elsewhere i think. i dont like the exhaust tips and its got a half cage fitted although the seller does seem genuine and its not been tracked or raced, the previous owner had one fitted and the carpets sorted around it. i like the colour of the car and it looks very tidy, but probably not the one for me as yet.
Exhaust tips on the 993 can be changed, although it may be a non standard exhaust. A half cage can be removed and sold for profit (all you need to establish is if there is damage where it's been installed).
The comment about not been raced or tracked seems odd as it has a cage.
Are there any reasons other than the above why it isn't for you?
also, i asked the question about track/sprints etc and was assured it hadnt been and the previous owner just fancied having one. it does however raise concerns, as people dont usually do that unless trying to recreate maybe an RSR type replica?
other than that it looks like a very nice car.

But are these your only reservations?other than that it looks like a very nice car.
Have you looked at this manual 1996 993 C2 coupe as it would be varioram and the silver/black is a great colour on 993's?
It's also better value than the previous arena red car (which is a marmite colour) giving you more money to sort any issues. Guess it depends on whether you want a low mileage investment car or a car to drive.
