2.7 rs real or replica
Discussion
Chased this down the A14 today. Real or rep?
Either way definitely driven as intended.
It had something hanging down underneath that seemed perilously close to the tarmac.
Car turned off at bury st Edmund so wondered if it was paul Stephens as he's based round there I think
Reg number FGV404L, lhd

It'd help enormously if the image had more than 12 pixels.
Hmmm, good point. But I was driving and he was quite a long way ahead so I've had to crop the image and resize it.Thought perhaps someone might know the car or reg.
I'm guessing it's a replica given the "spirited" way it was being driven.

I think it is real. Restored by Canford Classics around 5 years ago. I think I have sat in it - the colour, LHD and number plate all ring bells.
Excellent. I was really hoping it might be real.Don't know what these things are worth but he wasn't treating it with kid gloves. A few cars and vans kept getting inbetween us but I was having to fairly gun it in my 993 to keep up and he was fairly testing out his brakes when he came up behind things.
I'd like to think I'd drive it like that if I owned it, but suspect I'd be constantly worried about the value.

Surely going for even a fairly brisk blat isn't a big deal in a real 2.7RS? It's not like it's sideways in Kielder or in the pack at the Goodwood revival.

Agreed, although as I say the owner of this one seemed happy to use it as intended.Bert
As I was driving to my meeting I was trying to remember when I last passed another 993 on the road. Which led me to thinking I hadn't seen any other air cooled 911's of any type for ages, then a few minutes later this 2.7rs appeared in my rear view.
It made my day.
