I’ve had my GT3 for 6 years now. But I have always fancied an aircooled, and the aircooled scene.plan is to move toy France soon , so was thinking a left hand drive simple car I could work on. I know the performance will be greatly different, but hoping the driving feel will be just as good.
Has anyone changed from a newer 911 to an older one. And what are your views.

Just wondered what your thoughts on this one is..over £120,000 of invoiced to complete build

Wow! Timely thread!

I was thinking of posting this exact same thead this morning biggrin

I've had my 997.1 GT3 for over 5 years now and I am thinking of putting it up for sale to get into an air cooled.

Currently looking at 964's as I want to build something similar to Steve Rance's gorgeous car lick

Some people might say were are mad. Out right performance is not top oat the list at the moment. I quite fancy a Targa to hoon around France and Spain. when I move.

I sold my 997 gt3 clubby and bought a rhd 57 356a x race car. I found the gt3 brilliant but too fast to use on the road. I love my 57 great fun and tiny. It wil keep up with modern cars on the road. I feel it's more fun driving a slow car fast, rather than a fast car slow. With today's cameras etc l would have lost my license with the gt3. I haven't looked back [url]

Hi
Just wondered did you attend the super coat meet at the Hare pub in Roxwell last year. If so I spoke to you regarding your change from a gt3.
Lovely car .

That was me at the Hare
I remember you saying how much fun it is. You really can’t use fast cars on the roads anymore, unless your out in the sticks or on a track

Hi

I had my first experience with an aircooled 911 yesterday. A 1972 RS Evocation. Wow what a difference 35 years make compared to my 2007 997 GT3.
Fantastic experience, you really have to put all your input to driving these cars.
It has been fully restored and is beautiful.
But could I be happy with only this and not my gt3. A complete change of driving

A RHD 72 RS Touring was first air-cooled 911 I ever drove. Talk about being spoilt!!!

Yes it was a lovely car. Engine was built using RS 2.7 parts, Injection , pistons heads crank. For sale now to me for around £95,000 £122,000 of parts and labour plus the original car. Complete full strip down and rebuilt.
The GT3 would have to go in the end. A move to a new group of enthusiasts with air cooled.
