My 964 c4 coupe Full restoration/refurb
Discussion
Hello all, fairly new to the forum and glad to be joining such a fine league of gentlemen.
Thought i would share my 964 experience with you all! Ok so over the last year i have bought a 1991 964 c4 coupe in midnight blue (manual) with sunroof, elec seats, AC, power steering, and went ahead with restoring it. The car was originally in good condition with no dents or accident history, but paintwork definitly needed to be brought back to life. Im not the most knowledgable porsche guy and this was my 1st project.
I bought the car with 130k miles and 2 previous owners. Apart from needing an engine rebuild most mechanical parts were fine, (exhaust, gearbox, etc) I will write below what ive had done since then.
10k full engine rebuild
New clutch
Full glass out bare metal respray in midnight blue (original colour)
full releather and carpeting of interior
dashboard and trims fully leather painted and restored
all aesthetics done e.g. alloy refurb, new badges, mirrors, wipers, replacing door/sunroof trims, replace whole rear light strip and just other little bits.
The car is running and starting beautifully now. It is still in the garage getting final touches done. Things like new steering wheel, final polish. Brake/clutch bleeding.
I would love to enjoy it but originally done this as a buy/sell project. Now not so sure!
would really appreciate what you guys think of my situation? Around how much do you think i could get for the car? Do i hold onto it as a longer term investment? Have i gone the right way about restoration? Anything else needs doing?
thank you all for reading and would appreciate ANY feedback from you great people

I reckon £40k-ish from dealer. bought a 964 C4 manual w/ I think 120k miles a few years ago from a well-respected dealer for £37k. It had also had an engine rebuild and had a few mods but not bare metal respray. I don't think prices are as high as they were then but with a full respray you're justified a higher price assuming a quality job.

£40k to £90k depends on the restore quality.
tricky to value.
Yeah ive noticed there is a really wide price range anywhere from 40k for one that needs attention to like 70k for a good one, mine is defo at the top end and only 2 previous owners so will be advertising for 65ktricky to value.
Manual 964 C4 coupe in midnight blue with sunroof, elec seats, AC, power steering and 130k with an engine rebuild and respray.
I think £65k is ambitious.
Pros
Manual, coupe with rebuilt engine
Cons
C4, marmite colour (some like, some don't) and high miles
Most would want a sub-100k mile manual 964 C2 coupe in a desirable colour for that money.
