993 - Buying Tips

I'm looking to buy a 993 (c2 or c4, coupe, manual). Previously owned a 996 and a 997, and performance cars of similar vintage e.g. E30 M3 and Integrale Evo.

When buying from a Porsche indie ...

- What questions do I really need to be asking them?

- With the car on the ramps, what do I really need to ask them to show me? (Head studs).

- Is a compression test needed pre-purchase?

Thanks for the responses, but I'm realising my 993 apirations will be difficult to achieve.
