964 gearshift issue
Discussion
I used my 964 today and really enjoyed the 45 minute run to my folks, I also used it on Monday with a 3 hour round trip; both journeys were uneventful mechanically, although glorious to be out in the car.
On the return run today, there was a 30 odd minute tailback on the dual carriageway, with stop-start traffic as well as more normal motorway speeds. Towards the end of the journey on the slip road, I struggled to be able to change down into lower gears.
Is this a normal for a 964?
It’s a 1990 C2 with 68,000 odd miles and correctly maintained.
Advice and thoughts appreciated.

Thank you both; either or the combined issues make sense. It’s only the second time the problem has arisen in 3.000 miles within my ownership.
I have yet to find a good 911 specialist with 964 knowledge near to me (Suffolk) and use Autofarm, who are really good and look after it annually but are 100 odd miles away.
