Currently there is a 1984 308 GTS being offered for sale in the classifieds from a vendor in Oxfordshire that is being advertised as one of 184 genuine RHD cars, but it is in fact a converted LHD car.

The advert mentions that the car was originally supplied to Switzerland, and that on being brought to the UK, the speedometer was converted from KPH to MPH, but still claims it is an original RHD car.

The Chassis No. ZFFHA02B000035057 decodes as being a European LHD car:

(If the car was a genuine RHD car then the eighth digit would be a "C" and not a "B").

Added to that, the wipers and centre console also indicate that the car was a LHD originally.

I emailed the vendor a couple of months ago when they ran the same advert to inform them that they were falsely representing the car - Which was ignored, and I have emailed them again this time (and I suspect they will again ignore My email).

To anyone looking at buying a 308 GTS, be aware that this car is not a genuine RHD car! - It is a converted LHD car!

nice work, you should name the vendor...... too many sharks in this world
I didn't want to fall foul of the "no naming/shaming" rules on here, but the advert is not hard to find in the Pistonheads classifieds, being for sale in Oxfordshire with an £89,993 price tag.

To those in know when it comes to the 308 GTB/GTS series, alarm bells would be ringing straight away based on the centre console and wiper arrangement, but My concern is for anyone new to the 308 GTB/GTS series being hoodwinked into paying genuine RHD money for a car that is not a genuine RHD.

(Note: I'm not saying that the RHD conversion has not been carried out correctly, or that the car is unsafe in any way. All I am pointing out is that the car is being misrepresented in the advert, and that the vendor has previously been informed about the misrepresentation, but have decided to continue with the deception)
