If you bought from new, don’t bother haha.

So, I am a new upcoming buyer and have fell in love with the idea of getting a 458 with as little miles as possible.

I quickly learnt this is not always a good things, for various reasons.

So I ask, how many miles did your Ferrari have when you bought it?

What’s the max miles you would buy a 458 with, as a none millionaire, hardworking 34 year old, obviously conscious of repairs and big bills after the warranty runs out?

For context a 458s monthly finance with a 15% deposit would cost me around 12% on my of monthly income. So I can afford the car, but my last vehicle was a brand new £85k C63s. It’s quite a jump for me. Albeit super exciting, I want to make the right choice.

I assume it wasn’t from an official dealer?

I think when buying second hand, if you’re not experienced, like me, you automatically assume less miles is better.

For instance, I just sold my C63s with 4006 miles on it £2k cheaper than I was offer in Dec with 3800 miles.

Bought at the end of 2015 with 51000 kms on the clock.....currently sat at 88000 kms and no major worries/niggles. Has always had an annual service in the Ferrari dealer network (Stratstone/JCT) with nothing negative to report each time.
I watched a very informative video on YouTube which stated the 458 needs a engine rebuild at 60,000k

Which began with an advert for Nigel Farage and is entitled 'Ferrari 458 Italia | Best Car for Teenagers'

You're not a teenager now !

Presumably you have researched the credibility of the presenter or do you believe everything you read on the internet ?
I pay for YouTube premium. So I don’t see adverts. Sorry

Bought my first Ferrari in November, at 33750 miles. It’s now covered 34000! hehe

I’m absolutely itching to be out in it, but the weather would have ruined the enjoyment anyway; so I’ve used the time to really make sure it looks the part for when it finally does go out. I’ll be taxing it in March, and providing Covid has blown over, we’ll be driving it down to the South of France this August for its first proper road trip with us.
Ouch.

What model?

France sounds awesome mate.

Any closer to buying a car yet, Adam?
I’m looking to apply for finance in April, mate. Zero-point right now.

I can’t test drive right now, and we’re in lockdown. I’m going to put down a 20% deposit too, so I need a little longer to save the £30k ish for that and £8k for the full Inconel system that Brooke Racing is making for me.

They’re 3 I have my eye on, which have all been sitting there for a while. I’m hoping it will increase my leverage, and now I’ve come to learn I don’t need one with sub 5k, it’s opened up my options a lot.

Although, in saying that, there is a nice 15,000k one at Premier GT that’s been there for six months, and they won’t budge on the £135k sticker price. It seems he’s sunk all his cash into it or something and doesn’t want to take a loss or something. To put it into perspective, Jardine just sold one with a similar spec, 3 x less miles, with the F warranty, same year, for only £4K more than he is asking. So it’s a weird one they won’t consider any discount at all. He said “the market is booming”. I respectfully disagreed and said I would be back in April.

Most other dealers are happy to give a big discount, and I don’t need to mess about with a PPi and £2600 per year for the warranty, so I’m hoping to get one through a dealer tbh.

It’s all well and good cutting out Ferrari to save cash, but when you have to pay out £600 for a PPi and £5600 for a two-year warranty, it puts you back in dealership pricing

There's a good chance they're might be another stampede when the lockdown is eased so I wouldn't assume those cars will still be there. In July when I bought mine jct sold 6 458s in as many days. An indie I went to was unable to process the finance due to the sheer amount of people buying it was a crazy time. Might not be as marked this time but lockdown end coupled with the onset of sorting it could be busy. In my business I'm holding off doing any really keen deals for these reasons.
We will have to wait and see. I won’t rush into getting a car that’s not perfect. The weather is getting better and il be happy being out on the WR450 until the perfect one comes.

I bought my F355 GTB over 15 years ago with 55k miles on the clock.
Has hit 70k now.
Bang on 1000 miles a year ha.

I hear the 355 is a money pit with huge repair bills. I think the car guys latest 355 bill was just shy of £20k

Any plans to sell it?

there are 3-4 458 buyers on this forum alone. All just waiting for spec etc or a bit of movement. I offered on a car last week but was 5k apart. I am happy to wait.

It only takes one buyer, Modena had 2 458s for 6 months, both sold in the same week a month ago
Yeah rushing into an £150k investment isn’t a good idea.
