based on what?

It is a mad price for a 458 but the car ticks all the boxes for a collector. Could well be a case of the dealer "testing the water"...

Instances of this sort of behaviour from this dealer before. Feels a bit like order spoofing.

I came to this thread thinking it was an interesting story about about a 300,000 mile Ferrari

As it doesn’t appear to have the “vital” carbon racing seats, I would have expected the PH cognoscenti to have valued it at about £30,000, if that.

I agree with what your saying. But I still doubt it'll sell at that price. I think there chancing....

Its only worth what someone is prepared to pay.
You could advertise for £400k and have the same chance of selling it to someone who has more money than sense.

Totally agree but then again, I don’t think I ever expected to see a Mercedes sell for $115m either! Strange times…

This is basically being sold as near new so will be interesting to see if any takers to justify this premium.

Near new 458 or well used speciale?

plenty of collectors out there with deep pockets, there's a guy on fchat for instance who has 2 of every car, when he buys a used ferrari it's conditional on it being sub 1,000 miles or he's not interested (unless of course no examples exist like a classic etc)

...when you consider a high mileage speciale might go for the same that looks really expensive.

Highlights the danger of paying a premium for a low mileage car if you intend to use it because the premium just evaporates. Anyone who pays this for a regular 458 is in for a shock. Better to buy a well used example and spend a few £k bringing it up to scratch.

Obviously pretty unlikely that if someone bought that car they would be driving it.

One for the road and one for the display cabinet.

A fine philosophy when you can afford it
