355 Coilovers removal

I’m attempting to send my coilovers in for refurbishment, but can’t find a garage that willing to have my car on a ramp for a month.
As a backup plan I asked my mechanic to come to my house and help me jack up and remove the coilovers from the car. He refused, stating that it required too many tools or something of that sort. I didn't quite get his reasoning. I assumed that the entire assembly could be removed without needing to compress the spring and it should be a simple job. What am I missing?

Your missing nothing. The strutt assemblys are easy to remove all round.
Then to remove the spring from the assembly is straight forward using a spring compression tool.
Two different size collar/platform adjustment "C" spanner/tools are needed to remove the platforms and to adjust the spring hight once you re assemble the units again.
If you do find some one to take them of and they don't have the adjustment tools, contact me and I will let you borrow mine. There a tool that just sits in the tool box because they are so little used.
Edit: just took a picture of the said "C" spanner for you to see. One is for the platform adjustment, the smaller for the locking collar.
