599 vs California

From the reviews, the 599 and the California sound like two very different cars. Anyone driven (or even better, owned) both? Be interested how they compare.

I’d be looking at 2007/8 early model, not HGTE or Cali T.

Very helpful, thanks Messrs Wombat, F355 GTS and TVR. It would be for a weekend car, so looking for more of an ‘event’, which does rather point me to 599. Would want RHD though, Mr Slicker, but thanks for mentioning.

In part thanks to the various PHers input on this thread, I ended up getting a 2010 Cali.

Glad I ignored the many rather less informed comments and reviews out there that suggest it’s just a tame GT. It’s not. It’s very versatile, and can be driven comfortably if you want, but it is a long way from tame. Fantastic car, and certainly exciting enough for weekend blasts.
