I’d be eyeing up the 458 spider at Joe Macari’s for too long and decided to go and see it. Great showroom and relaxed atmosphere.

Walking over to the 458 I saw an FF that had just come in. The colour struck me first, then the condition. I looked for the glass roof (check), the non standard seats (find the standard ones too slippery), (check) and basically - I bought it on the spot.

Car has the perfect spec (for me), black leather with grey alcantara inserts, carbon packs, 18k miles (low but not TOO low), shields, the wheels I like, and that roof. It’s a late car, 2015, so still under the service plan, and having owned a 2005 model 575 some years back, I was keen to have a car made as late on in the model life in the hope little issues had been ironed out...

On pick up day, was told it had been on the ramp to have the warranty checks done and it has a Capristo exhaust fitted which was a nice surprise. All in all, a great service from Franco and Alex at Joe Macari and a nice bonus to meet and have a chat with a well known racing driver on pick up day too.

The last Ferrari I had was the 575 and I’ve been shocked at how capable the newer car is. The game has moved on so fast, the FF feels so strong, so secure and SO BLOODY EXCITING I can’t imagine topping it.

I’ve had my kids in it, their friends, done deliveries (parked out of sight smile and managed a quick blast to the Cotswolds yesterday - so it’s going to get used as intended.

A few pics too - I nearly bought another 911 and it was only Porsche West London’s total incompetence that stopped me. Will post the odd update and try and give a decent take on day to day life with an FF.

Thanks for the kind comments. Taking the car through France currently - four adults (well, two adults and two teenagerssmile and no complaints. It’s more like travelling by private jet than car - progress is majestic and reactions have been 100% positive.

Love the car and it’s split personality - cruises at 90mph in near silence, then twist the mannetino to ‘Sport’ and it’s a savage. The Capristo boxes certainly scared a few locals...

Little pic from Chambord ...
