But how are you going to do a tip run in the sunshine if it takes up half the load area.... ?
it’s an important car buying criteria Bertie.....
I have a folding hard top bmw 4 series. There a lot of roof to fit in the boot, but it’s surprisingly usable.
I remember some years ag picking up 2 x 20kg bags of sand from Wickes once in my Lamborghini... got a few funny looks it’s an important car buying criteria Bertie.....

Got the car and all I can say is wow!
Im not sure exactly what has changed from the SuperFast to the GTS but it feels like a different car.
I think they've just dialed everything back a touch so it's all a bit less frenetic and nervous, feels more composed.
It's so much more than a Superfast without a roof....and the noise!!!!!

At the risk of sounding daft, what’s the headroom like in these? I’ve had a deposit down for 18m or so, at the time a test drive wasn’t an option, so I just went for it. I’m told ‘under normal circumstances’ I would be speccing it this summer, but I’m happy to have a later car. I’m 6’3 and wondering if I will fit comfortably?
As far as I can tell, headroom is the same as the Coupe. What do the dealer say?

Normal SF coupe holds no interest for me Bertie. I’ll take a normal F12 for that ty. Then a GTS in 3 yrs time.
Interesting you say that, chap on IG has got an F12 and has just sepnt a day in an 812 and posted this..."I’ve driven the 812 superfast a few times before but after a whole morning behind the wheel on a whole mix of empty open Hebridean roads it’s clear to me that this is a truly phenomenal achievement, the most incredibly well realised and cohesive accomplishment graced of course with one of the very finest engines ever to be put into a road car.
The 812 corrects all the shortcomings of the F12, it makes the older car seem like a work progress. People say the 812 is a firmer car but that is misleading. The 812 suspension it’s just a whole generation more advanced, it damps so much quicker and with so much more feel. The net result is a machine that feels so much more car like so actually more comfortable and is now just so enjoyable at lower speeds and steady state cruising. I could drive it for days on end, it is just beautiful to pilot whatever the conditions. The same was never true of the f12, for me it only ever shone during maximum attack.
And then there is the 812 rear steering, the way this huge beast turns into a bend and then tracks the road. The handling is so precise and instrument-like, so unlike a big heavy front engine GT, that it calls into question the relevance of having a V8 mid car as well in the fleet. Pure witchcraft that’s what it is.
So alive, so visceral, scary scary amounts of power and revs, the 812 is far far too much car for anyone but all the better for it. I have not driven anything finer or more complete."

Hi Bertie,
I’ve had one of these on order for a while now and I’m just about to do the final spec.
My question is when I sat in a car at Graypaul with the same seats as your car it seemed like my eye line was very near the top of the windscreen so it feels like sitting on top of the car.
How are you finding the driving position now you’ve had it a while as I’m thinking I’m going to need to change to the sports seats. Btw I sat in a few superfast and I always felt like I was sat much lower in the coupe.
Hope you’re enjoying the car and any advice on any spec items you’d recommend would be great.
Thanks

I’m not tall but I find the seats fine, I guess if your 6’ plus it maybe different
I think it’s a classy car so keep the spec fairly simple and classy.
Interior carbon is a must, as is car play and high power hifi, maybe lift too

The lift is an interesting one. I really agonised over not having it, but I can honestly say in 6 months of ownership I’ve not needed a lift once. A couple of times I was thinking I did need it, but actually it was totally fine without one. Now I don’t stress about it at all. Just a FWIW.
Hifi upgrade is a must, not sure car play is though as there is no screen to operate it - kind of makes CarPlay redundant.
I hear you on lift, I have it on some and not others, very much depneds on where and how you use the car I guessHifi upgrade is a must, not sure car play is though as there is no screen to operate it - kind of makes CarPlay redundant.
Car play is an absolute rip off, but I think is essential if you are considering resale.
It actualy works ok as it comes up on the left hand cluster display and you use the left hand joystick.
Tricky choices both I agree.
