I've just seen the blue F40 on CC's currently over £2m. Have I missed something as I thought F40's were generally around £1m obviously dependent on condition etc.

pound - dollar has a lot to do with this.

12 months ago they had already increased from around £1M (as most cars had) to around £1.3M or $2M in the USA for a good one.

1 year ago £1 was $1.4. So $2M was £1.43M

Now £1 is $1.1 so $2M is £1.82M

So £/$ is most of the increase and owners are shipping to the states.

Most high end collectable cars have increased significantly in the past year due to the fall in the pound.

I bet Sam Moores is suffering buyers regret big time.
That makes sense .. and of course they are all LHD so no issue for US. Yes I can imagine Sam Moores being "disappointed" that he didn't keep hold of it. I'm also disappointed that I didn't look at them seriously a lot earlier. It will be interesting to see where it ends up and whether it does go to the US.

That doesn't make sense. I wonder what the auction prices are on those at the moment. I haven't been following but I imagine half that

give or take x9 since 2014 from memory and probably x2 during the last 12-18 months
x2 in the past 12-18 months. Is this level of increase specific to the F40? seems like an incredible leap. I guess we have seen incredible increases on the F50 over recent times as well.

ouch, then again even more so would have been if you had bought one end of the 80s on the secondary market and then sold in 1999 .....
What price were they then? £500k?

F40 pricing has been on rise for sure, but I can't see how that particular car has reached what it has so far.

PaddlUp did an interesting analysis on F40 pricing, for anyone like me interested in the data

F 40 spotted this morning on the Wessex Way in Bournemouth ,was sunny but roads still very wet.

Anyone on here ??? , Nothing you forgot to tell us JonnyTVR scratchchin
I should be so lucky! I only found out about the event today after the meet up sadly. Its the F40 that was at emblem when my countach was recently. Apparently a long term owner who has always used it and in all weather.

That is very strange. Unsold with them means didn't meet reserve, surely at that price and profit why wouldn't the seller be happy with that? Mad times
Were they real bids?
