I suppose someone will have a crack at the ring in one once the weather warms up. Only 50 made worldwide though.
The slicks/semi-slicks question is a good one, I don't know what they used on those times. On the Super-Trofeo special edition laptime at Fuji, they used both (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dORxB2UxjeA).

what's the rationale behind giving the engine cover and wing a smooth black finish : it clashes with the carbonfibre down below, and looks like fibreglass !
