why didn't you buy a 650s spider?
Because I get absolutely no feeling for any Mclarens. None of their lineup has ever been a consideration for me.

I like cars with soul and character, even at the expense of some comfort or ease of use wink

how about speed + handling? see Topgear tonight? smilesmilesmile
For me a supercar is just as much about drama and feel as it is overall speed.

For race tracks I use my M3 cup race car. For road use a supercar has to give me everything, including drama and personality.

Everyone is different which is why there is lots to choose from smile

I get the whole soul and character thing and its nice to have a car that excites but those that don't see that a 650s ticks those boxes need to drive it more.

I drove several 12C's and 650S until I got what the car offered in abundance and its certainly a car that grows on you the more you drive it. Sometimes you have to look beyond the initial wow and noise to discover the depths of the car.
I think the 458 and Huracan put it all out there up front unlike the classier McLaren who doesn't invite you in for a "coffee" on the first date
If I wanted something classy I wouldn't buy any of the above. Just saying.

Having had orange and white Lambos before this yellow is on another level.

On a day like today it is so flippy in the sunlight. It's also shown just how well Lamborghini Pangbourne prepared this car for me, top marks as there is not a swirl in sight even in full sunlight!

I really want one but the few i have sat in, including the Spyder, seem to have a high seat position. In the coupe my head was very close to the roof and the spyder i felt i was looking at the top frame of the screen. I'm 6'3... are there different seat options that lower the position ?
I'm amazed you felt this. I am 6'2 and hate feeling cramped or high in cars, and in the Huracan I have loads and loads of head room. Many cars I would be hitting the ceiling if I wore my crash helmet, but not even close in the Huracan.

I don't know about seat adjustment, but mine has full electric adjustable so maybe they are lower than fixed due to different mechanism?

Worth adding the entire driving postion vs the older Gallardo and LP560 I have had is vastly improved. Pedals are no longer towards the middle of the car so you can sit comfortably and straight.

My head was about half an inch from the roof in my 560 and Gallardo .... perhaps i have a long body. My 458 on the other hand has plenty of room. I'll pop to the dealer at the weekend and ask some questions.
Yea I couldn't easily wear a helmet in Gallardo. Loads of room in Huracan.

Craig been taking pictures again!

Nice car and would love to do get a yellow or blue one, just can not pull myself to it!
Craig has my coupe in the showroom at the moment (grey) you should of bought that one!
Enjoy, its one car I can honestly say I enjoy daily and can drive it in normal mode (not very often) or have some fun (Just got a Spyder so hopefully we will have a summer!!!)
They look superb in the grey, but I had to have a bright colour while I'm still "Young" enough to pull it off. Once I get into my 40's or 50's maybe I'll tone it down a bit wink

Enjoy the Spyder!

Cars with the slatted engine bonnet have much better visibility as you can see through.

Mine has the glass cover and the reflections from the engine mean very little rear visibility out the back window.

Hi Matt, many congrats on the new car, looks stunning! Would be nice to hear your thoughts comparing it to the LP560 smile
I've done a few hundred miles and I can tell you its a totally different animal.

1. Its faster, a LOT faster.
2. It doesnt complain about being cold, or full lock manoeuvres, or reversing up a hill, or traffic.
3. The gearbox is in a different planet (and clutch seems more hardy).
4. You can use it in traffic.
4. Its more comfortable and spacious inside, more head room.
5. The finish and attention to detail is sublime. Everything carries the hectagon theme from the wheels to the switches, rather than just audi parts bin ala gallardo/lp560.
6. Every time I look at it on the outside I discover another line or part of the design that I love. Pictures don't do them justice.
7. Never cared about spec before, but this car has most boxes ticked and little things like style pack actually make a BIG difference.
8. They need to be in a bright colour. I considered white/grey/black but the lines just don't show like a pearl bright finish provides.
9. The exhaust note and pops and bangs are addictive, its relentless.

I've yet to find a negative in all honesty, even the usually crap hifi isn't half bad inside. Much improved sound quality, volume, and DAB that works.
