As the topic suggests which would you buy 07 facelift Pre-LP or a 2010 or so LP560? Roughly 15k difference in price and why?

Heres the 2 I've been looking at and approached the dealerships:

Pre LP

LP560

Thanks

Also may I ask if you could get into a Bicolore for a similar budget is it worth the extra in regards to residual values etc? With only 250 made I believe? Is it such a limited edition spectacle as a Balboni etc.

of those I'd take the LP
Which one mate the 86k or the 95k BiColore? Can I also ask why?

Bicolore seem very limited numbers 250 I believe so could be worth the extra plus big fan of the contrast in colours.

Thanks

Ok guys

Advice needed.

I've bumped my budget up a bit to get into a LP560-4 and I'm waiting on a call this morning for this beautiful LP560-4 BiColore.

It was originally listed for 110k and it's down to 95k now - what would you be looking to snap it up for and whats a fair price?

Also, BiColore 250 of them made - sought after? Or no different to a normal LP560?

Thanks!!

Anxious, nervous & excited all in one today!

seems you are trying to buy a Gallardo and a California at the same time, they are very different cars I suspect so it is probably worth stepping back a second and considering what is it you exactly want from a car?
I originally wanted a Gallardo, the wife then moaned about back seats for the baby so I looked at a Cali however it wasn't really the car 'of my dreams'. After discussing with my wife she told me if I'm spending this kind of money it's best to get what I really want however restrictive it is for days out etc.

So I'm at the Gallardo.

Thanks

To be a real party pooper and impart my advice from personal experience - don’t bother with a two seater sports car/supercar until the kids have grown up. You just won’t find the time or rarely find the right occasion to use it.

Stick the money you would have spent aside, invest it wisely and in 20 years buy the car of your dreams.

Of course you won’t pay any attention to this. (I didn’t either at the time). You’ll learn the hard way.(Just as I did). Young families and supercars don’t generally mix! Not from my experience anyway.

Not enough use to justify it sitting on the drive? I have often thought that but I find the majority of my driving is done alone other than weekends.

For those interested I've put down a £500 hold deposit on the BiColore pending finance approved at agreed monthly budget & test drive which is to be arranged in a week or so when I have time to travel up.

I'll keep those with any interest updated but would still appreciate some advice on what to look for/fair price etc etc

You are one step closer so congrats to you. If you are happy with the car once you go see it, then I would strongly suggest doing a PPI and ensuring that the dealer will be happy to cover any significant findings as part of the deal. From my experience a good PPI pays for itself and then some.
That is what I've read mate and a definite regardless of the last service at Lamborghini in May. Better to be safe than sorry. It comes with 12 months warranty but I will try and barter up to 2 years - it's with AutoProtect who seems fairly reputable? Warranty Direct don't touch Lambos from what I can see.

I'm hoping to head up in the next week or two and if all is as I expect complete weekend of 20th Oct for a fun 3hr drive back from Middlesborough.

Wise words in some ways, but there are 2 counter-arguments:
1) Tomorrow may never come (lots of reasons)
2) 20 years ago, a Countach would have cost me £34,000
Kids can toddle about in the 4x4, I want something for me now. Not in 10 years. Selfish? I don't think so. I work hard and although conscious of the cost am beginning to accept maybe I do deserve to own a car like this.

I'm awaiting a call this afternoon regarding the finance being approved at my budget and a test drive (if neither are satisfactory I get my hold fee back and I move on).

Congratulations. Which one did you go for out of interest?

The concern I have is how long some of the pre-LP cars have been on the market. The white one at £77k has been for sale for a long time!
Hi mate,

The LP560-4 BiColare at 95k from Middlesbrough.

Thanks guys.

I'm consider the wheels and brake calipers but I'll see how it looks upclose first.

Regarding the BiColore - I know they only produced 250 so perhaps more desirable than standard could help with value? Even with no mechanical changes?

What’s happening OP? I note the car you were buying is showing still for sale and now reduced a few grand?
Had to delay for a few months. I've an extension being built and Mrs has gone over budget to I called to ask to delay until mid December. Car is still marketed and as you say reduced by 2k so I assume they wish to sell asap. I've also been slightly distracted by one being listed at 5 (now 7k) more with 23k miles less on the clock if I am to consider resale value in 3/4years.

Gist is I need 2-3months to bump funds up so I'm comfortable with the purchase. Saturday was beautiful weather too which made me sad but its rained ever since ;-)

I wouldn't worry mate. I can only see prices heading further South. It's a personal opinion but I see a chilly wind blowing in to the economy on every front.

As much as I am tempted, I am sitting on the sidelines and watching, for now at least.

If you are at the £100k mark I am surprised the Mk1 SL at VVS isn't a temptation. RHD although guessing a Singapore import but still looks a v good car for the bucks.
I want something a little more modern so want/wanted the LP560. To be honest I'm having a few doubts about the whole thing now so kind of glad I held off. What are you predicting in regards to LP's over the next 6 months or so? I don't mind waiting til Spring as nothing exciting happening in winter.

I think I would be a bit gutted if I missed out on the LP but we will see. I'm checking on an almost daily basis.

Looks like the price reduction to 92990 was too tempting for someone who has snapped up the motor I was keen on come December.

Back to the drawing board for me.

Test drive booked this Saturday in a LP560-4 in verde eithica apparently 1 of only 4 coupes in the UK in this colour. How true that is I'm unsure.

I'll let you know how I get on. Planning to move on this ASAP if suitable/enjoy the car.

Best colour, obviously

Yes, a very rare colour on the gallardo... Early pre lp cars were yellow and black mainly, more colours after my06 update, most lp cars were black or white
A rare colour for a good reason? Limited numbers or a bad reason? No one likes it?

I'm not massively hung up on resale etc but don't want to be stuck with a colour no one would want in 3-4years.

You will next week when I post pics if goes to plan on Saturday ;-) Test drive booked, finance all approved, just to sign my life away on Saturday.

Since this topic was briefly taken over by how to drive the eGear can I confirm - round town etc am I best using eGear and paddling myself? What about motorway driving? auto is ok? And corsa for lazy but pushing the car on motorways etc?

Congrats on the car. They are brilliant machines and sound glorious. Just wait till you hear it when you first fire it up (cold start) sounds epic.

to save your clutch, just leave it in sport or corsa. Corsa gear changes are a bit neck snapping though. Mine is permanently in Corsa.

If you come to a halt pull both leavers towards you to engage neutral. Do this is in stop start traffic as well.

Never had mine in auto.

Basically, just drive it like a manual and you can't go wrong.

Oh and pics as soon as you get it smile

Thank you.

What is the meaning of the 'corsa' mode? Is sports a sporty auto? e gear obvs eGear and corsa like a super sports mode or?

Corsa just makes the gear changes faster but there is a bit more to it though. When pressing on in sport it will change up if you let it get to near the redline, in corsa it won't. I've also noticed it will change down for you if it thinks your in the wrong gear for the speed you are doing when in sport and in corsa. But essentially, you still need to change gear yourself with the paddles (down shifts are to die for). Once you drive it you'll see what I mean. It's different in the pre LP cars apparently.

When you get it, flat shift in corsa, it's awesome!

You'll also need it in corsa if you want to do launch control. TC off, Corsa on, press brake, pull paddle to engage first, put foot flat to floor, release brake. Sounds like you leave your gearbox behind when you do it. I've checked, you don't smile

Thanks mate.

Just had a call from the dealership. Looks like the car may have been sold by another salesman getting there wires crossed before I've viewed. Great.
