A thread that isn't about a Mac! What is PH coming to?

At the moment I have a 50th Gallardo, which I love but I've seen a lovely Performante for sale and can get a good deal on it. However, as the Gallardo is one of only 13(?) in the country part of me thinks I should keep hold of her. Prices on both are only going one way at the moment so which would be the best car to hold onto long term?

love it. Want it. But am conflicted. Not sure if buying a car at this level is a good idea at the moment. I am not a serial supercar buyer so a bit of a noob at this kind of thing. Also Mine is one of, what, 12 in the country.

Thoughts?

I know it's a superior car in everyday to what I have. My main concern and probably the reason I won't go ahead with it is that in the next couple of months it could, like most cars of this ilk, drop in value considerably given the economic uncertain around Brexit. Or am I being too cautious?

Your original post said you could get a good deal on one now, so buy it now. Alternatively wait until Christmas and buy one cheaper, or wait until next Christmas when they may even cheaper...
Or wait a few more years and buy open then. It's just one big long wait with you wink

Head or heart choice this.

Get what they are saying with the RWD G shimmering around as mine does that all the time and that is part of the appeal of it. I've said it before and I'll say it again a RWD G is just like a bigger faster version of an Elise in the way that it drives well, with out stuff falling off and staring at mini metro door mirrors and other parts bin bits from ford.

I've also noticed as lot of perfs for sale are all about 18 months old. I presume this is due to the cheap finnance you can get if you take it out for 18months. People off loading them due to the bubble payemnt being due and hence plenty for sale?

Tough choice.

Off to Lambo today to pick mine up so I'll see if I can get a test drive in the one I am looking at and then decide.

Test drove one at the weekend. What a car!

In sport mode it felt very easy to drive, just like any other car really and the dampening on it meant it could soak up all the bumps in the road without jarring your back, even with the buckets which I love. Stick it in strada and it sounded awesome with the pops and crackles coming from the exhaust, was very loud though but as the car stands out like a sore thumb I loved that about it. Corsa mode turned the car into a different animal all together. You could feel it moving around and it felt pretty good in this mode. Compared to my car the gearbox is a certainly an improvement, shifts where faster and a lot smoother even in corsa mode.

Sticks to the road like glue as well and through a set of flowing corners it gave you a lot of confidence to keep your foot in. In short you'd have to be driving like a complete dick to stack it.

Car I drove didn't have LDS where as the car I am looking at does. How much of difference does this make?

I've been in a 720s and although the mac is quicker it doesn't have that "je ne sais quoi" of the Perf. IMHO the Perf looks way better, sounds better and has all the ingredients to make it a special car which the McLaren doesn't. I'd say the Mac was like eating at a restaurant that almost but not quite has a michelin star.

Would I miss my Gallardo if I traded it in? Most definetly yes, although the Gallardo is old school now it feels very analogue which is a good thing in my book and with my being RWD I'll miss that feeling when it shimmies around when your on it. Something I never got from the Perf.

Maybe I would be better off with 430 Scuderia?

Matt black perf when I was looking was up at £199 now up for 169K. Glad I decided to wait before I get one as it looks like I could save myself 30/50K.
