New to me this car, just getting acclimatised! Q's though - what's consensus on best tyres on the G? I use Pilot Sport Cup 2 on another car, love them but not in Gallardo size rears...

...and was there ever a definitive answer on how to unplug the vacuum solenoid to keep the OEM exhaust loud at all times?

Thanks Larry5.2, got it from VVS. Have converted my very modest collection to all manual, non-turbo older school cars as (1) I like driving them a lot and (2) my 12C was looking like it could become the worlds first worthless supercar. Rare car, fantastic condition inside and out, only issue is 4 years of sitting in storage so needed a full going over and a warranty in case it reacts to now being driven!

I definitely need a better exhaust, or at least a way to remote open the valves from low revs. The former seems inevitable...

So I popped out the vacuum pump fuse and as far as I can tell we're open all the time now. However it just proves a punchier exhaust is required...

So fitted Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's as they are great on my GT8 without the issues of PZ Corsas in the cold. Result on Gallardo is way better turn in, quite a lot more (dry) traction BUT a clearly firmer ride. Superb for short spirited drive and maybe the odd track day, but I suspect a long journey off motorway might wear a bit thin now!
