(PENDING) Photo Resolution

Opening front page articles on my iPad today gives me hideously pixelated images (Motorsport on Monday a and the MX-5 one for example), between that and the comments being upside down its actually easier to browse this site via the forum at the moment.

Yes the photos still look terrible in today's articles, very pixelated.

The comments were appearing newest first, which is kind of the opposite to how most people would presumably normally read them.

Still seeing horribly pixelated images on my iPad by the way, as an example the Clio article today, some of the track shots look ok but the close-up/static shots are horrible.

Standard Safari browser, iPad 3, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5S all having the same issue with the same photos.

Not giving up on this! A number of images in the Nurburgring testing article, for today's example.

7 months later, still borderline unviewable images in news articles. As an example, every single image in the McLaren 570S article looks like pixel art.

Yup still happening, every image after the first in the Motorsport on Monday article, for example.

I think we can safely assume 8-bit graphics will be the norm well into 2016.

The issue is as bad on the iPhone. Considering the resolution of Apple devices is probably higher than the average desktop, they shouldn't be using thumbnail versions for mobile full stop.

Not sure if this is supposedly fixed yet but the Focus RS article is another obvious example of it being very much broken, still.

I hope it's not a sign of things to come, but on iOS devices at least things get awfully pixelated in the Subaru TT article as you get towards the latter photographs in the article.

Yep same for me, everything is ok apart from the grid of images at the bottom of an article (i.e. the recent Subaru one).

Er, it's not looking good folks. Article images are very pixelated (Porsche Audification is a good example) on mobile devices once again. iPhone 6 Plus here.

Safari on iPhone 6 Plus. Images in 'Ferrari in London' article (just as one example) actually unviewable.

Thought I’d bump this as it seemed to settle down a bit briefly (i.e. the occasional news stories looked ok) but now everything is hideously pixelated again pretty much without exception.
