If you make a post and immediately think "st st st I need to edit that!" and go to do so, you can get hit with the anti-flooding thing.

I totally get that immediately making a follow-up post could be flooding, but editing your post should not be.

What the current measures mean is you have to wait to correct your post, during which time some smart alec has quoted it.

Haven't you heard the saying read twice post once? hehe
True. And one day I might learn that. biggrin

Our anti-flooding system only prevents you from editing the post for 10 seconds to stop bots filling the forums with spam. I should think it's highly unlikely someone would see your post and quote it within that time before you can edit it, but I could well be wrong!
It does happen though. smile

I guess what I was saying is that, ideally, the anti-flooding system should differentiate between a new post and an edit. But I completely accept that this is a very low priority / minor issue and, as you say, 10 secs isn't that long.

Is this new? It's annoying. Just came to post about it, don't remember it being a thing in the past.
It's been a thing for years and years. Definitely not new.

It's really no great hardship.
To be clear, I never said it was.
