Aventador S - Questions to ask and must have options?
Discussion
Hi all,
Considering an early 2017 Aventador S. What are the questions I should be asking the dealer? I read somewhere that a clutch reading should be taken however the dealer has told me they don't entertain these clutch reading requests and if the clutch needed to be replaced then this would not have qualified as an approved car?
What are the must have options apart from the suspension lifter? Is the standard sound system really bad - not that I intend listening to much music in it!
Any help appreciated on what I should be looking out for?
Thank you

Lift is a must, I would also try and get one with the carbon interior pack (door handles, centre display, and over instrament cluster) without this, it is just plain plastic silver and looks very naff/ cheap.
My car is black so exterior carbon would make little difference to me, on the other colours - personal preference..
I would not buy one without an official Lamborghini Warranty - approx £6,800 for the AV S.
My gearbox was replaced just after I bought it when it was 2.5 years old but had only done 2.8k miles.
Thats over a 30k bill (covered under warranty) - I dont think any normal aftermarket warranty would cover that - (most max claim limits I have seen are only 10/15k)
Mine is also a 17 plate and is due its 4th year service soon - the large one (4.5k bill) so bear this in mind.
Normal service is approx £1,500
Also make sure all recalls have been done as there are a few...
Mine Is now on 11.5k miles and I will only change it for a SV Roadster or an AV S Roadster.
Top tip when you fill it up and it clicks off - you can add another £12-15 of premium fuel which you will be using lots and lots of.....
Is nice if you can get one with the glass rear deck lid...mine did not, but never mind.........
Proper car!!!!
Thanks for the tips! Smashing looking car. Did you keep the wheels silver or go black? My car is black so exterior carbon would make little difference to me, on the other colours - personal preference..

Do these need to be serviced every year....the car I am looking at has expanded the service intervals a little so it's a bit out of sync by around 8/9 months or so however Lamborghini have issued a new warranty on it and the dealer tells me the mileage between service intervals was low so hardly matters...I don't see an issue but refer to you experts here to comment?
Also does anyone know what the "big" £4k service entails?

Would someone be kind enough to take a width measurement of the Aventador S with the drivers door open - so from the widest point at the top of the door opened to the wing mirror on the passenger side - I need to see if this will fit in my garage!
My Garage width is 3150mm
Auto trader show the car width to be 2265mm but this is probably with the doors closed - need to see if I have enough space to park close to the wall on the passenger side and have enough room to get out inside the garage.
Many thanks

I have learnt, over the years, that the only way to be sure, is to try with an actual car in the actual garage.
Appreciate that but given the rarity of these car's I don't think that is going to be possible! The dealer is over 250 miles away so that won't work.
I think I should be ok as a Range rover fits just fine. Just not sure about how much space the doors need.
