12C absolutely brilliant
Discussion
I have just returned from an 1,850 mile trip to the Swiss Alps and back with my wife in our 12C. It's the longest trip we have completed to date in the car and it was faultless. There was plenty of luggage space up front and on the rear shelf, we cruised through France, enjoyed many alpine passes and drove back through Germany at up to 150mph (it was busy).
What amazed me most was the total comfort, even better than my 911, no back ache, no pains and no tiredness even after 8 hour+ drives. in 10 days we drove 1,850 miles at an average of 53mph and 27.1mpg.
I cant think of any super-car that would be as comfortable, fast, reliable, spacious and economical as the 12C (apart from a 650s probably). I get more impressed with the 12C every day.

Fantastic, such an accomplished all round supercar.
I wish I could get that mpg in my 650S, the best I've achieved thus far is 18 mpg and the average has been 13.8 mpg since I bought it new 4,000 miles ago.
Hopefully the engine is loosening up a bit now and the sports exhaust also getting louder.
Great to see so many positive comments on the 12c/650s these days.
I feel the tide is definitely turning but it always takes time to build a brand no matter how good/superior the product may be
I have never got below 20mpg, Mostly 22-25mpg driving fast or in traffic and 28-32mpg for slower driving and motorways, 36mpg is best when 50 mph roadworks are en-route. And thats using 95RON too.I wish I could get that mpg in my 650S, the best I've achieved thus far is 18 mpg and the average has been 13.8 mpg since I bought it new 4,000 miles ago.

It does seem that the 12C is a little more frugal than the 650S (perhaps the front is a bit more slippy combined with 50 less torques). However the most frugal is the 675LT, some of the owners on FB are seeing up to 38mpg! Its remarkable engineering, being able to get above 30mpg in a sub 3 second to 60, 200+mph car while not purposely driving slowly is astonishing!

There must be some man maths in there which means I can justify £150k + more to get in a 675LT but hell I would have to drive it an awful lot of miles and probably live in it as well
I think the 675LT has enough hype (justified of course) without you joining in Rambo ;-)Recent journey from South London to St Albans, I have checked the computer with my own calcs and it is around 1mpg out usually so take 1mpg off. The hardest drive I did was an hour and a half to Goodwood and I got 23mpg. On the Autobahn at 110-150mph for an hour I got 18mpg, which is included in the average of my original post. Not been on track yet but I would imagine a lot less like all cars regardless. The second image is from a friends 675LT...!!!!

Thanks Bispal for posting up your experiences and MPG. Can't wait to pick mine up this Saturday! Great to hear that it's so flexible a car: I can't imagine driving that many miles in my V12 Vantage in one go - it would be too uncomfortable.
In comparison to the fuel economy I get on my Aston: 11mpg driving to work in the day and 17mpg at night. Although I do drive in a "spirited" fashion...
Are you getting the silver one from McBrum with the saddle interior? You won't be disappointed! PM me with your email and i will add you to the McLaren owners group on Facebook, lots of help and advice on there. In comparison to the fuel economy I get on my Aston: 11mpg driving to work in the day and 17mpg at night. Why is the average speed in KM/H ? when the others are in miles. Surely it should be in mph of 38.75
You can set the speed individually to consumption so when abroad you can have Kph for speed and mpg for readout. Each readout can be altered individually, thought you would know that Rambo?? ;-)br d said:
I'm the same RL, never read the bloody manual!
I've done 3 trips around Europe in this car already and changing to Km/h would have been very handy. Every day is a school day.
It's very easy, from the stalk go to (settings) then into (display setup) then (units) then you can change mph-kph and also distance, temperature, pressure, consumption and volumes, all individually. It's great because tyre pressure is default in bar but you can change to psi etc. You can fiddle with it when you are in the channel tunnel. Also If you do go into meridian settings in the audio and choose expanded mode, sounds amazing :-) Also the overboost set to 800bhp is mind bending ;-)I've done 3 trips around Europe in this car already and changing to Km/h would have been very handy. Ah ha! Got it! You have to go into TRIP.
19.5 MPG.
And there are 2 trips, if you push the stalk down you will see a second trip. The second one restarts with every journey, the first one when you set it (by pressing the button on the end of the stalk for a few seconds). You can reset the second one mid journey by pressing the button on the end of the stalk as well. However for some reason the mpg figures take a few miles to settle down if you do this. Have fun....!19.5 MPG.
