Hi Guys, my first post on the McLaren section of the forum, historically been a Porsche and Ferrari buyer but been out the market for a few years.

I've just returned from viewing a Ferrari 430 Spider with a manual box that's very peaky at £149,950 and I'm weighing this up against a much newer car and having just been blown away being taken around a circuit by the track owner in a 650s I wanted to look into them and was quite surprised how much car you get for your money with them now.

This will not be a car that gets driven a lot, sorry I know people get annoyed by that but I've caned various GT3's, GT2's and 355's and then sold them all on years ago for a pittance compared to value now.

I want something I can drive every couple of weeks to once a month and keep fairly pristine for the next 10-12 years, the Ferrari appeals to the emotional side but the McLaren is an amazingly car that was seriously quick and I think will be highly sought after in years to come especially based on production numbers etc.

I've seen this car quite local to myself

Looks a good spec to me but I'm very very new to McLaren so not sure and would appreciate any advice if possible.

I've been reading up on warranties and this seems to have one so I'm assuming I could then extend it ?

Is the colour ok as don't see many in silver from my research?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

One particular question is around the standard memory seats, I'm 6 ft 4 and in a 430 the race seats work fine but the standard memory seats are far too high and make driving almost impossible as looking straight at top of screen plus legs totally cramped. I read something about this with the 650s so any advice appreciated. Thanks again.

Great thanks for the replies everyone. Really helpful. I've spoken to the garage and hope to view the car next week as I'm traveling this week. Once again it's much appreciated for all the input and pointers

Guys I'm slightly confused as to how this has derailed into a slanging match and whether I'm being accused of not posting correctly??
