My new Jet Fighter for the road McLaren 720S Performance
It goes like one, and the glass canopy makes me feel like I'm sitting in a jet fighter too!
Just some quick phone pics for now. I will take better ones when it's back from the detailer.
It actually looks a lot better in the metal than in pics, as you can't see many of the small aero details and hidden channels in pics.
Looks like it's on fire when the sun shines on it. The effect is far stronger in the metal, than on video.

Thanks guys Glad you like it.
I spent many hours in my garage with it the day I collected it Staring at it, moving it around, taking pics, playing with the car’s settings
The whole afternoon and much of the evening in fact. Wife wasn’t best pleased!
Honestly it’s even more stunning in the metal.

I agree, it does look like a spaceship or fighter jet. Glass canopy around the driver enhances that feeling too, as does the speed and power of course.
I think the looks were initially a shock to people, especially when seen only in pics. I was unsure of it myself initially. But when I saw one in the metal it looked so much more impressive than any pics.
Brake pedal has the feel of an unservo'd car, which I love. And steering feedback is very Lotus like - again an excellent thing for any car.

Rambo, I do actually think the 720S is utterly stunning, with hypercar looks and performance. But I agree pictures do not do it justice.
Although when you become familiar with its looks in the metal, the pic also start to make more "visual sense" and start to appeal.
Mick, it is Azores orange. Really comes alive in the sun.
Woppum, I like that red
Andy, you pretty much summed it up. It is very radically different, and in a good way

I visited McLaren HQ yesterday at Woking, and took my young son.
Truly fantastic day.
I was so impressed by the personal treatment we received from McLaren. It is no exaggeration to say we were treated like family. They made me feel like I was their only customer, so warm was their welcome.
None other than Amanda McLaren's husband, Stephen, welcomed us - and then spent an hour chatting, listening and answering questions. When I say listening, I mean genuinely listening to my comments. To the extent that after our tour I found he had already acted on them and a manager was waiting for me when I left to follow up. Not only that, but Stephen already knew of most of my thoughts because his colleague at Goodwood Festival of Speed had chatted to me there 3 weeks ago and had fed back to him!
To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
11/10 for McLaren.

Just to wind him up some more...
Their HQ is very impressive indeed. A lot of it is underground, and feels like a Bond villain's lair An undergorund tunnel leads from the F1 section to the supercar factory.
All the cooling is done via cooling towers, which are on view indoors, and use the water from the surrounding lake, and then circulate the water back via a waterfall that surrounds the building. So cool
It's very "design conscious" and looked to me like a car factory that Apple would build if they made supercars.
I saw the F1 workshop, and even one of Senna's old pit crew working on a current McLaren F1 car.
And the best bit is all the original classic cars. The first car hand built by Bruce McLaren and his dad, and raced by them (modded Austin 7). The first McLaren F1, first P1. All the key F1 cars etc (Senna's, Hunt's etc). I couldn't keep track.
I was in motoring heaven. It just doesn't get any better.
And the whole tour was personal, just for my son and I. Really so utterly impressed by McLaren's treatment of an ordinary customer.
And they gave us gifts as a memento, as well as one to take for my wife when we departed.
British engineering at its finest, and a company at the top of its game - at least on the road.
