Hi guys, new to the forum, but this should be an interesting comparison.

What would you choose: 600LT , 720S or GT2RS? Why?

Although the 720S and the GT2RS are like a step up from the McLaren Sport Series, I figured the track focused 600LT with increased HP, lighter weight and better suspension, would be a fighter among these big boys.

I personally think the GT2RS is the best buy if we strictly look at it's performance figures and how well it does around the Nurburgring. However, it lacks the super car aesthetic and looks pretty much just like the other 911's (regardless the more aggressive aero).

600LT being offered only for a limited time and borrowing a few unique characteristics from the Senna, makes it one special car that would be worth buying. Besides the "LT" model designation, the rear exhaust and the bucket seats are what I like about this car and not to mention the aggressive aero it has. In a straight line, it's slower than the other two for sure, but on the track, it might have a chance to keep up with the big boys.

720s being the fastest in it's class now (wait for the Pista...), maybe lacks the track performance compare to the other two? Also being a normal McLaren model, the depreciation will suck big time compare to the other two limited time production models for sure. The 720s hype is still there, it is still a killer on the straight line.

If we are to consider the exclusiveness, performance, appearance, cost and depreciation, which one of these would be your choice?

675LT is probably out of the picture as there's none on the market where I live.

I like the opinions that people have over these cars so far and as you can see, it's a pretty hard decision among these cars.

720s being the fastest in the straight line, costs more than the other two (in Asia), and will depreciate like a rock in the water...

GT2RS being one of the fastest street legal track car, lacks this supercar look... but tends to hold its value compare to the McLarens (it's priced slightly higher than the 600LT and lower than the 720s in where I live)

600LT is priced slightly below the GT2RS, doesn't look like it can out perform the GT2RS, but looks way better in my opinion, with descent options, it'll be close to the 720S base price.

I wonder what other criteria and factors people look at when comparing these three cars.

Where in this wonderful world are you if you can still get a GT2 at list price. A friend of mine has just bought one and it was over double the list price, he paid roughly the price of a 600LT AND a 720s for it.

The GT2 is a fabulous car, but it's not available in the same price bracket at the McLarens.
I am located in Taiwan... where import cars cost twice as much as the cars in the US.... The GT2RS base price here, is equivalent to 500K US$... I didn't know that the price of the GT2RS has gone beyond double of the MSRP in the US..... that's insane as well, but I guess welcome to my world?

Apparently I think the local dealer here in Taiwan is still accepting orders for the GT2RS and 600LT. Not a 100% guarantee slot, but they say is worth a try. If the allocation have all been filled, they will definitely not taking in any more deposits.

Unfortunately, the GT2RS market in Taiwan isn't something like UK or US, dealers aren't selling these with any markup, so in terms of future market value... I think it'll still be just like any other Porsche; go down gradually.

My logical part of the brain is telling me to go with the GT2RS because of the performance figures and the time Porsche has been in the car making industry will result in better quality overall.

However, I always have the feeling for McLaren. I like their styling and the fact the doors open upward is just rather cool. Plus, if I go with the 600LT, I might have a better chance of getting a slot for the future 7xx LT. rolleyes

Maybe enterprising people from Europe will now try to order in Taiwan and export without registering (I assume then the tax is not due/you can get it back?). Having said that, prices are falling from the lofty heights judging by car ads/asking prices in Europe, looks like Porsche is building a lot of them.

Good luck with your decision - maybe try to get a test drive (at least in the McLarens)
I don't know how the tax work... but I thought I read somewhere that they will be making these GT2RS for just one year and that is roughly equal to 1000 or so units?

How are the people in Europe view the 600LT? I don't think a lot of people are buying it?
