Dear All. I may well make the leap and buy a 675LT (prob spider - for sunny days and overseas driving hols). I tested an LT at Romans last week (grey, <1k miles, asking 260k). I really liked it. There's also a nice one at Hartley in chicane grey, 3k miles asking 260k. Fezzas are too shouty for me (testing 488 at Egham at weekend just to be sure), and I'm not saying 675 is a sleeper but it's different. I got a few thumbs up whilst driving the Mac compared to the abuse I got when I once drove Ferrari. More importantly, I thought the LT was superb. Dual character: compliant ride yet total weapon. I've currently got 2 911s (old turbo and new 4 gts coupe) and I've become a bit numb to Porsches (sorry). This would be my first car at this level / price point.
I'd be REALLY grateful if owners could help me with the following:
1. depreciation views for next year or so (assume 250k in). Conscious that a lot of people have lost 100k or so in 1 year. Where's the bottom?
2. timing. Do I wait for winter. There are quite a few so should I wait for the depths of winter?
3. reliability. Perhaps my main concern. I've read some scary stuff on McLaren Life. What is the reality? Any hints to spot a dud / things to look out for?
4. aftersales. Similar to point 3, I've heard horror stories about McLaren servicing and aftercare. What is the reality>
It's an occasional weekend car.
Much appreciated as always.

Thanks for the replies so far. As for the Lantana Purple 675LT Coupe - thanks for the heads up alas (1) I prefer the spider (overseas road trips and ability to lower rear window when roof up) and (2) purple with orange interior sounds not for me - to each their own. Oswald Boateng suits work with that colour combo (if better looking than me) but on a car? for me, no.
Often wondered why Woppum never got a 488 (driving that tomorrow at Egham) or a 675LT and passed over it for a 720s.
Any other 675LT owner views? Still seem to be a lot for sale....surprising given how good I thought the car was.
Thanks all.

With thanks to all who posted on this. I acquired a 675 LT (pic below) from Carl Hartley. Only a few drives in but loving it. Really grateful to peeps for views. Happy motoring everyone.

Agree on each to their own.
I've only done 500 miles in the LT (with carbon bucket 'racing' seats - you can see from my photo above).
The racing seats are not like Lambo or Fezza racing seats. They are much more comfortable yet still hold you in place.
The 'normal' seats in the 'volcano orange'? example at Romans International are leather and electric and wide with little bolstering.
I've seen that car (but not driven it). It's a nice car and the colour really pops in the sun. It lacks a lot of exterior carbon and the seats must put people off. It's a lot of car for the money (oh, and a lot of money too. I'm not being flippant).
The difference is that you sit 'on' the normal seats and 'in' the buckets.
Given the character / intent of the LT, for me the buckets would be the only way to go, but when I first started looking for one I didn't want the buckets as I thought not comfortable. My experience is that the buckets are superb: both comfortable and holding.

Ps I know I'm going slightly off topic, sorry Mr Moderators I'm not a super-user of this great forum, BUT does anyone know why Mr Jay Kay (total legend) is selling so many of his cars? I just saw the video of his collection that is up for sale (it's on YouTube Harry's Garage). I wonder what he is making room for, or perhaps he just had way too many and this amounts to a spring clean of the collection! I guess this is tangential to original thread as he is selling a 675LT on it - good luck to the person above who is going to bid on it.

Mikey K, I'm afraid that is not correct. I'm sat here looking at the invoice. I won't post it as it's too painful. But CF exterior upgrade pack is an option GBP 7880 (end plates, lower side intakes, rear bumper centre and upper). CF side intakes is an option GBP 2330. As are mirror casings (and mirror arms)! If you don't spec the CF you get the anthracite / grey plastic. TBH I think both look fine. You may be correct that they had to pay extra to paint the side plates and front plates - but from memory if you spec Elite paint (as that one is) I think you get the blades painted for free (but they aren't carbon fibre underneath).
Here's a link to a full US spec list so you can see every option and cost.
McL is exceptionally good at charging for visual CF.

You're right. Visual CF is absolutely not the same as painted. That's why they charge so much for it. The prices are nuts. But it makes a big diff aesthetically and for re-sale - as you say. It's not true that Romans won't do test drives on Its. I did one. Ask SB she's good. I'd be surprised to see any LT dip below 200k even painted carbon. It's too much car for that money, but obviously I bought one so I have a rather conflicted view on value!

Fully biased as an LTSpider owner, but I don't agree that the 720s and the LT are comparable. Build quality of the LT is widely commented on as being far superior to the 720s. Also, whilst it may not be faster, the LT is a limited run car. I really can't see LTs with a good spec at 200k for a long time. Granted they do depreciate like crumbling masonry but I can't see them below 200k unless high miles / sub-optimal spec / both. PS my seats are changed to carbon fibre racing buckets (McLaren OEM seats) and I think I would laugh if some copper tried to tell me that it wasn't allowed. Whatever mate. Jog on. Nobody drives with a full spec sheet - surely?! I might need to do some homework here as I'm off on a few road trips next year to those parts.....

WCZ I think that's a bit harsh. I don't brag about CF front louvres but I do think it looks better to my eyes. Whether you like it or not, I couldn't give a monkeys about what you think about me. Not bragging. To each their own mate.
