and having watched the mkt for months with increased frustration due to the high number of SOR cars meaning part ex'ing wasn't easy I finally put a deposit down on a 570s today...to say I'm happy is an understatement!!
Earlier car with 17k miles on it but still under extended Mcl warranty until Feb 2020, just been serviced too (full Mcl service history of course). Car looks in excellent condition throughout and hasn't had any panel replacements from the corrosion issue that afflicts some of these. Hopefully all goes smoothly on Sat..I think I asked all the relevant questions with the dealer but any other points I should consider?

If you are a cash buyer it's certainly alot more straightforward tbh...but the right car came up at a reputable dealer ( Redline Specialist cars). Thankfully there was no messing about with SOR so we were able to agree a deal fairly quickly. Yes it'll be my first McLaren so certainly a dream realised, car is black with the lightweight diamond cut alloys which work really well, carbon interior (paddles also which was a must for me) with Alcantara seats and steering wheel, some nice red accents on the interior to brighten things up a bit!

Cheers guys...it came on Sunday night but I was quick to engage so it wasn't there for long. They pretty much offered me the same on my Vantage as an Aston dealer did a couple of months back but I've also done 3k miles in that time so seemed fair enough. There was a little bit of wiggle on their end too but the car was well priced to start with given the spec so I think it's a fair deal overall...and the fact it's still got 3 months Mcl warranty was an important point for me. Doesn't seem to have had any major warranty work done as I specifically asked which hopefully means it's a sound car.

Thanks guys...on the warranty yes the guy at redline was confident this could be transferred to my name but I will make sure he is 100% on that before Sat. As for my V12S it's making way for the Mclaren, it's been a brilliant car to own ( and v reliable!) hoping the 570S is the same. Already looking ahead to a trackday or two and some road tripping in the new yr!

He said they've transferred warranties in the past but he's checking with their contacts at Mclaren...

Yes much longer than the standard ones and more tactile...also a rocker system which I don't think you get with the other ones.

Yep that's it wasn't sure if it was only with the carbon paddles so thanks for clarifying.

Just back from a long but very good day (440 miles in total!), picked the car up from Redline and it's just a lovely piece of kit. Interior and exterior absolutely spotless car is in mint condition. It's so savage above 5k rpm in sport or track mode that I really couldn't imagine what a 720S is like! As some pointed out the warranty is only transferable in the case of a private sale however there was a way around this which I won't go into here but you can prob use your imagination. Redline themselves were excellent to deal with v professional with no messing about...and they have some truly amazing stock right now the pick probably the one off colour Bugatti Veyron Supersports. A great day fulfilling a long held desire for me to own a Mclaren...will post some pics below.

Yes I got the impression that they vet all their stock pretty well so would be suprised if anything they were selling wasn't a good example...they are moving to a new bigger site in 2021 which is much needed given the amount of stock they have! Maybe a 720S could be the next car down the line but for now I'm gonna enjoy the 570S as much as I can it really is a level up from anything I've owned before.

Click on the green "New Post" tab in the top left hand corner.

That will open another page. Click on "Choose Photo/Video"

That will take you to your PC's file options or phone's Images.

Go to the Picture file on your PC (or on your phone, it'll take you to your photo albums. Open the album and tap the image you want to upload) Open the file on your PC then click/highlight the image you wish to upload, then click on the "Open" tab.

That will take you back to the Imgur upload page, when the image has uploaded it will appear in the centre of the page.

Hover the cursor over the image, and in the top right hand corner you'll see a small box with three dots in it.

Click on that box and it'll open a tap with three options, the second one down is "Get share links". Click that and then go to the line that says (BBC Forum) click the green tab that says "Copy link" and paste that link into your post on here.

I had to do this to upload pics of my new RS..
Thx for the help!

Quite funny even on the drive back had so many positive reactions from people, stopped at a random petrol station on the A1 woman comes out of the shop stops and stares at the car with mouth almost agape...she asks what is it??..recovery lorry driver at same station toots the horn with a big thumbs up...I guess these cars are super rare out on the road still even tho they've been in production for a few yrs.

Yeah the original owner did a nice job alright! Couple of things my spare fob doesn't seem to be working at all ( didn't check it yday) perhaps a new battery needed? The main fob works fine but only very close to the car from over 10ft away it doesn't lock or unlock, previous cars the fob always worked from a good distance away. The reverse camera is pretty rubbish definition wise, now I'm not asking for 4k but this looks like 360p. The car drives like a dream tho so confidence inspiring really can't wait to try on on track.

You're a cash buyer right ? Do you have autotrader search alerts set up as some cars appear there overnight and then are gone quite quickly if well priced, another thing is you can hit the heart icon to add a particular car to a watch list which helps you keep track of how long its been advertised for. I just noticed a black track pack car at GVE London that's been advertised since Jun, they just knocked another £10k off it now down at £94,900. I enquired about this car back in September when it was listed at the old price, dealer was rubbish at coming back to me with part ex value etc so I gave up however part ex not a problem for you.

Just thought I'd update the thread given I've had the car over 2 months now and it just went in yday for a check over ahead of warranty renewal. My spare fob wasn't working at all so both fobs being replaced under warranty as they only do them in pairs. One of the rear suspension ball joints has some slight play in it so that's also being replaced which will require a full wheel alignment afterwards ( all covered under warranty too). One of the brake cooling ducts on the front has broken off tho and I'm having that replaced but obviously not covered by the warranty. So a couple of grands worth of stuff but I only have to pay for the duct which is about £320. Glad I bought a car that was still under extended warranty as otherwise I'd have had to pay for all of the above before a new warranty could be put on it. The car itself has been great the issues mentioned above are all fairly minor and certainly didn't impact day to day use. I don't really understand people complaining about the noise these make, it really starts to sing when you get above 5k rpm and in track mode it definitely sounds plenty loud and aggressive, coming through the Hatfield tunnel yesterday it make me grin quite broadly! Overall couldn't be happier with it the new warranty will be almost £3k but seems fair enough to me given how comprehensive it is. Heading over to the Ring with it in April so looking forward to that.
