Hi Guys,

As the post says I am patiently waiting to pounce on a great deal on a well looked after 720S (Black, White, Dark Metallic Blue or Dark Grey).

1) I understand cars are selling well below their asking prices on auto trader etc. Can anyone give me an idea on what should be considered a great deal for a performance version vs an S with a few thousand miles?

2) Are there any must have options?

3) Is the upgraded stereo any good?

4) I have heard some cars are real lemons, anything to watch out for?

Thank you all for the help!

I'd be looking to pay 160/165k for a low miles 2019 performance.

Upgraded stereo ain't that much better imo

Not sure there's any 2019 'lemons' out there & god knows how you'd spot one!
Thanks for posting Ferdi!

May I ask why a 2019 and not say a 2018 performance with low mileage for £145k or £150k.

Is the performance version a must have for resale?

2019 as I'd be trying to get as new a car as poss with at least 2yrs warranty left.

I suppose a well priced 2018 car would be great too if you can get them to throw in the 4th year warranty.

Performance seems to be the more saleable model & I much prefer the alcantara interior personally.
Got it, thanks mate

Considering depreciation, I know this car will be with me for approx 1 year only, 2 max if I love it, is it better to go 2019 spider at around £190k or coupe at £150/£160 for a late 2018/2019?

Also in 3 weeks the LT will be announced. Will this impact 2019 lightly used values?

I am patiently waiting.

Thanks again for all the help guys!

You are not going to get any spider for that price right now. Think more along the lines of£210K minimum and £225K for a nicely specced model. I know - I have been looking.

The dealers reckon the value after 2 years would be around £140K maximum, probably less
Ok, that is very helpful! Thank you

Spider is out for me then.

Hi - I was in the same position until last weekend - I was looking at heavily optioned ex-McLaren 2018/19 cars for about a month but dealers didn’t move much on price (say £5-6k on a £160/170k car). I got the feeling that there really wasn’t much margin in them. I ended up cutting a deal on an unregistered car (2020MY) with much less spec but in a colour combo I loved. Tempting fate but I think for the price I paid I’ll be wearing ~£50k depreciation over three years looking at values of 2017 cars.
Would you mind sending me an email/message about what you are were able to close at?

Thank you

Blade Silver
It looks great in the pic. I wonder if it looks like this in most lighting or it’s just the photo on a grey London day

That photo and others are of the same car in SA are what prompted me to get this colour, it is quite common on the 570 but rare on the 720 but looks sensational a wonderful silver which can look more grey under some lights and gives the car a very sophisticated look. Everyone who sees it loves it.
