Is there any anecdotal or actual data on how reliable the 675lt is in comparison to the 720?

Interested to hear from anyone that has dinner proper miles on one.

Thanks.

This is what I've heard and seen. Two friends have 675s and they feel much better in terms build quality. Also, they've done twice the mileage I have and not had a single issue. My 720 unfortunately has been awful. All sorted now but it's left me with a sour taste for the brand.
I'm hopefully doing a deal today on a 675lt spider. Hence the question.
Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that.. dont let it put you off the brand.. (i know thats easy for me to say).. the 675LTS will certainly restore your faith!
I hope so. From what I've read and experienced the 675 will likely restore my faith. But anyone with a 720 out of warranty is a brave person!

We have had our 675LT Spider form new and never had a single issue with it. Done multiple long road trips etc. Also never had any issue with our 720S either. I posted an article detailing all the maintenance history on both on our website recently.
Thanks. How many miles have you done in the 675?

I did 2,200 miles in my 675LT this winter when I bought in Jan till lock-down, so 6 weeks. Absolutely no issues at all. It has been fantastic. Talking with other owners its a similar experience, very few have issues with the 675LT even owners who have had from new and done 10k miles plus say its the most reliable McLaren. As stated above there was 5 years + practice with the other P11 cars before they made the 675LT so most, if not all of the issues, with the 12C / 650S had been ironed out.
Thanks. Makes me feel much better about the purchase. Especially without manufacturers warranty.

The right 675LT is so much more of a car than the 720S

things might change with the 765LT but until then the 675LT

will hold a place in my garagerofl

I’ve had my 675LT for coming up 1 year. Only issue I’ve had is the radio stopped. Harwoods fixed and it’s just stopped again, not a big deal as the noise is pretty cool inside.
This happened to my 720. New amp in the end.

As well as being very reliable I will also add that my 675LT is the car my wife likes the most as a passenger, she prefers it to my Exige 430 (no surprises there) but also my 981 Spyder. In fact when we went away for 300 miles for a weekend just before lock-down she asked to go in the 675LT, even with the buckets she says it is very comfortable as a passenger.
Funny isn't it, my other half also prefers my 720 over all my cars. They do the weekend getaway stuff really well, very impressed with it........ when it worked.
Thanks for the breakdown, really useful.

Congrats 1 ( or rather bugger that's another one off the market now ). If you don't mind me asking where did you pick this beauty up ? Is it the Oscar Jacobs delivery mileage car ?

Napier Green is my favorite and preferred colour along with Papaya spark orange. The search goes on but realistically I might have to compromise my MSO spec requirements before they all disappear

Thank you. It's the Optima car, 1 owner, 4600 miles, ppf from new. The interior has the green stitching which I really wanted.
Hopefully prices have firmed up now. Good luck on your search.

Very Jealous, Looks amazing. That's a real steal at that price and like you I think these are definitely at the bottom of the curve now. Ridiculous to think that car would of been fetching £400k 3 years ago.

Top 555 have a similar car for £210k but I definitely prefer your 10 spoke wheels to their's 5 spoke.
Having bought a couple of cars from them in the past they are always immaculate but there is almost a no haggle policy so no wiggle room.
That said the last px price I had with them was realistic and not low balled but I think that's because they had a customer immediately lined up for it so it was a wash and go turnaround with 2 profitable deals. Nice work if you can get it

Starting to run out of options so might have to settle on looking at the basic Oscar Jacobs one at £235k and look at retro fitting some MSO carbon thru McLaren. At least its delivery mileage so is a brand new car under list price and if I spend £30k I can probably get my desired MSO spec for circa £265k which is ok.

Thank you, I'm really pleased with the car. The spread in price is very strange, there is almost a 15%+ margin between similar cars. Personally I'd avoid delivery mileage cars as they seem to have a 20k premium which disappears as soon as you get into 1000+ miles. I like to drive my cars, as long as they're in great condition and almost there in terms of spec then go for it.

Thank you. I think I met you quite a few years ago at Bruntingthorpe or Bedford. Did you used to drive a 997 turbo? I owned a fettled 996tt at the time in polar silver. I was there with Ken from 9excellence before he opened his outfit.
