Hi all, after several years of driving various different Lotus, I have taken the leap into McLaren ownership. The GT430 has gone and I am now the proud owner of a Slate Grey 540C. Standard spec other than orange calipers, seat belts and stitching. After speaking to a few dealerships, some of which never even called me back the guys at New Forest were great. Had the car a couple of weeks and can't believe the difference, it is a superb driving experience. Its away being wrapped at the moment, going Stinger yellow to the body and keeping the roof, A pillars and engine cover grey. Once its back, it's then going to McLaren Leeds, the washer bottle thinks its empty when its not, the air con and heated stuff has given up the ghost and the front O/S suspension is leaking oil. They say things come in 3's. Not great for a 3yr old car with only 12k miles, at least I have a McLaren warranty. I will upload some more pics when its back from the wrappers.
Cheers Jim, I am putting them down to teething problems :-) Really looking forward to seeing how the wrap comes out,.I am also looking at carbon hydro dipping. I have bought a spare rear diffuser and getting it dipped, I will post images of that too. I cant believe the price of carbon bits for McLarens.
Hi fella. as regards customer service and actually being interested in selling me a car they were great, after sales is just as good and they are being really helpful in getting things fixed and offered to speak with Leeds McLaren directly etc. They have asked me to keep them looped in as regards progress. I did question them on the pdi! Lets say we have agreed it's disappointing but one (3) of those things.
I bought the car from NF as Leeds and Hatfield didn't bother calling me back. As its an approved car it comes with the 12 month warranty so it can go back to any dealership and Leeds is only 6 miles from where I live. Hope mine looks as sweet as yours!! Also, yellow is her indoors fave colour so keeps her happy! (not an easy task when it comes to cars!)
The whole click and collect things isn't great, but I will still give NF their dues' at least they wanted to sell me a car, unlike a few other dealers! I am going to be positive about it and confident Leeds will sort it, 3 faults after 2 weeks, unfortunate but fixable! And I have just found out the "master" technician from Leeds lives a few doors down from me so might be giving him a knock soon and making friends
