Picked up a roof scoop coupe last weekend and thought you folks would appreciate sharing it on here. It is a clubsport too which makes it a rare old thing. The car was off market and I found it via Alastair Bols who knows where to find what you want, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with: helpful, open, prompt, did what he said he would at every step of the short process to buy the car.

I am blown away by it so far, and certainly it feels a lot more “grown up” than my 600LT spider. Faster, with even better steering, but a car that you need to be fully awake to drive fast; it sniffs out ruts and cambers especially on the Cup2’s my car has. The steering is incredible though, full of feedback and accurate but not overly light and fast like say a modern Ferrari. To me, a hundred times better than a Speciale, a car I owned for about 3-4 months but hated the steering.

The extra theatre from the roof scoop makes me smile, you can hear the induction as the car gulps air and then the wastegate whoosh from the turbos when you accelerate hard smile

The paint is Supernova Silver, which looks like Porsche GT silver in subdued lighting, but when the sun comes out you can see thousands of tiny sparkling flecks in the paint, truly stunning in my eyes and especially contrasting with the lashings of satin carbon fibre on the exterior of the car.

Thanks folks, lots of love for 675 on here and deservedly so!

Fezza, Alastair has a napier green spider I am sure you know about. I think that’s a stunning colour. If he is looking around for you, no doubt he will find something.

Thanks Andrew, I've seen that one and whilst I like the colour the fact its had replacement seats and now has a mix of leather dash and alcantara buckets makes me nervous. Also those multi spoke wheels would be a right pain to clean and I'm not sold on them. I much prefer the 10 spokes TBH.
Price seems top end as well given the above comments.
Not got my head round some of the price disparities with these cars but I guess they are spec and colour sensitive with white ones being cheaper ??

Roof scoop cars are well rare so must command a hefty premium but really make the coupe IMHO
Ahh I can understand your reservations, didn’t realise seats had been changed. When I was looking, it was originally for a spider and I also saw a range of prices though there were/are so few for sale.

Congratulations Andrew, your car looks stunning, a rare spec! I changed the Trofeo's on mine for MPS4S and I have no issues with ruts and cambers so I think a tyre change may help there? My Exige 430CUP has Cup 2's and it also 'sniffs out ruts & cambers' How wide are your fronts? Should be 235 on front but many fit 245, only due to availability, so if they are wider that may exaggerate the issue too?

Have you tired the game changing set up that some new owners don't know about? Car needs to be in sport / sport (at least) then one press of the ESC button and you will see 'ESC DYN' come up on the instrument binnacle. This stops any torque limiting and the acceleration goes up to another level. Only in the dry with warm tyres of course but it makes a very big difference as you don't get any small ESC interventions and full torque but you still have a safety net there.

The grip and turn in on a 675LT is like nothing else I have ever driven and combined with the perfect steering and amazing vision makes the car feel like a well built luxurious Elise with a missile strapped to the back (in other words perfect). Have fun in ESC DYN and hope to cross paths soon.
Thanks Paul, great info and I will try the ESC DYN mode!

The car has 235 fronts. I think I will try 4S when the Cup2’s are done, I suspect that will be the optimum road choice. I love your description of an Elise with a missile strapped on! smile

Funnily enough I had an Exige 430. Hope to meet soon, are you on the chat group?

Quick technical question - obviously the car is a carbon tub. But I wonder if the bottom of the tub is open to the ground beneath it or is there a cover hosing protecting the bottom of the carbon tub from grounding out - I only ask as it’s such a low car I can’t see how without a cover, the tub wouldn’t get ruined ?

Also are there any good videos that show you how to work the Sat Nav, work the lift , etc - general walk around of the features.

Re lift from the stalk - is it just two quick pushes upwards or do you have to press the little button on the end of the stalk first - can’t seem to do it.

Oh tyres - can anyone give me an idiots guide to the varying types.

& lastly - warranty - been quoted £5,400 I think + £240 for check up - 12 months (waive £240 if done with service) that’s bloody expensive - any other warranty products none McLaren that are as good / better value.

Charging - I assume charge up whenever you aren’t using it - 24/7 ?

Last one - on a Spider the engine lid is very open and then there is open mesh above the titanium exhausts. When cleaning I assume water just falls through the engine lid air vents and engine lid mesh and it’s fine as it drains through - or does one have to be really careful not to get excess water into the engine housing.

Assume any water that does get in there should be dried off the carbon engine housing or the heat of the engine will evaporate the water causing water ring staining to form ?

Thanks all smile
