Business case for commercial electric charging points?

I am not sure this adds up but as i see it companies are fitting in these free charging points all over the place. In time, and some are now, they will begin to charge for the power.
But as tech develops and cars regularly do more than 200 miles on a charge why would anyone but a minority on long journeys bother with them when they car charge more conveniently at home? And more cost effectively?
