Not wishing to prolong my now quite old other thread, I thought I'd start a new thread in appreciation of this truly great car.

I'm now in my 9 month of ownership and still in love with this car. If you're contemplating an i8, I can vouch for just how useable these cars are and how dynamic they are to drive and own.

Drove to Wilton House today, a round trip of 160 miles and loved every minute of that drive. Even with giving it some beans on numerous occasions, following a mates 600 bhp mustang, it returned 54mpg and still feels genuinely quick. Having had a brace of quick Caterhams and other performance cars, this is just as much of a drivers car as anything before.

Having got home and cleaned the car up, I just wanted to get back in and drive some more. Now that for me is a sign of a great car!

Graham, Park Lane are one of the better dealers out there and deal a lot with I8 customers. You must let us know how you get on with the new Roadster!

Plugging in only gives you 15 miles, so as been said, just drive in sport mode for a bit and that'll quickly charge the battery anyway.

That sounds more like it. I'd be really interested in knowing how much the upgrade will cost and when/if it's available.

Not had any problems personally and once you get used to it, it's a fairly easy car to navigate through gaps etc. Go for it, you won't regret it's!

First MOT on the I8 yesterday and never had one with less complications. No emissions testing as its a hybrid and very little visual inspection as most components are covered up. Strange, but tester said not much he can inspect if he can't see it...

Will make sure the BMW dealer does a thorough inspection at service time but nice to know the MOT is pretty simple on these...

That's crazy. I'm paying £550 for a 2015 car with only 1 year ncb due to having a company car.

Agreed, it's a non issue, although I'm an ex Caterham owner... ;-)

I extended mine last month at a lot less than you quote - circa £850 without the emergency service.

Yes, precisely that.

There may have been a very recent price increase but even so, I'm surprised at your quote.
