Porsche Taycan
Discussion
Has anyone got a deposit down for one? I have asked a few dealers who last year asked me to email a letter of intent which I did ages back but had nothing come back. Been reading in other places that some people have deposits down etc
I am hearing that order books open in September but I guess it will be another case of Porsche giving their best customers first cars who will flip for a £25k profit.

Has anybody been provided with any insight from an OPC as to when we'll be able to place orders on the base spec model?
Also, do I need to be heading down to my local OPC to give them a deposit of some description?

For now the 4S is the base model. If you ordered now you are looking at a September 2020 delivery so I don't think they will be announcing the base model anytime too soon. Those who have ordered the Turbo S apparently do not even have a build date as yet. Also, do I need to be heading down to my local OPC to give them a deposit of some description?

I have a 4S on order due early next year............
Interested to hear how you like it. Reactions are amazingly positive, people pulling out camera phones where ever they see the car.
I did opt for the optional "Electric" side badge so that helps differentiate it for some who may think its just a Panamera (lol) but it is basically a 4 door 911 in terms of the way it drives and handles.
You sit very low down so much more of a sports car feel than a 4 door saloon feel. The optional Electric Sports Sound gets a lot of positive attention with people commenting it sounds like a star wars spaceship
Launch control is just insane and the wife and kids complained of whiplash after a few goes and compared it on being on a roller coaster in Orlando
Car sticks to the corners like glue which is unbelievable with the car weighing nearly the same as a Range Rover. Magnificent engineering by Porsche.
So far, driving it like I stole it and the range is around 230 miles. However, once the launch controlling stops I expect the range to be over 260 miles as someone else on the Facebook Group has posted photos of a 100% charge at 270 miles on a couple of occasions now.
It's my daily driver and is really a brilliant car.

Looks a lot better than I expected in black. I'm very envious. What options and battery did you spec?
Added around £20k of options including the Performance Battery Pack, the upgraded wheels, Bose, Sunroof, Sports Chrono Pack, Heated seats and steering wheel, Pan roof, full upgraded leather, Power Steering Plus, Powered charging port cover, ambient lighting, powered mirrors, surround cams and more.No issues with the price here £100k for a fully loaded car with all the bits I could ever want, which drives fantastically, looks insane, seats 5 with ease and gives me major tax incentives as a company car being a company director.
Tesla's have fantastic tech and are VERY fast but they are not a Porsche :-)

Indeed. With huge waiting lists and lead times don't see these being discounted anytime soon.
Space is absolutely fine. I went with the 5 seat option and my teens sit happily in the back and i drive with my seat all the way back. It's not a Panamera but it's also not a BMW 6/8 series or 911.
I would say the rear space is pretty much the same as a 3 series saloon.

Yep, options are going to be murder on the 4S as the spec is relatively poor to keep that list price looking attractive hence the huge jump (£30k+) to the Turbo as it is far better equipped as standard but underneath only has a more powerful rear motor.
Completely wrong. Spec a 4S with £20k of options and you get pretty much all you need (I have!). Start adding these bits to a Turbo and you then get to Turbo S money. Spec the Turbo S and you get to Supercar money. Edited by SWoll on Tuesday 7th July 22:32
It's all a matter of what you need and feel is essential on your vehicle. For me the 4S was £20k cheaper for a like for like spec Turbo with bits I wanted.
