Repair/modification to existing home charger.

Anyone done this?

In essence, have a 7kw home charger with tethered type 1 cable on it but about to get EV with type 2 socket.

I know an adapter is available for this but would prefer a new tethered cable given charger will be used daily.

Contacted chargemaster but they wanted upwards of £450 to fit new charging box

Box is British Gas polar type installed 2015 approx

Sounds like proposed modification is entirely possible but in my case original installer not interested in anything other than an expensive charger swap
