Struggling to get over 140 miles on a full charge even with cruise control set at 65mph on the motorway. Anyone else having this problem? If I stop at a CCS charger the most range I can get in 45 mins is about 70 miles. This cant be right?
I am loathed to put it into the dealer as I know I will probably not see it again for weeks.
Is there any kind of calibration I can do?

So the jaguar website says using the heating will use 20% more battery. So it was pretty cold during these drives so the cabin heater was kind of required!
So if I plug in outside temp of 0c and heater on, motorway driving and 18 inch wheels their own website says 157 miles. You know what I reckon that's not far off. Well, that's a bit of a shock. It basically makes trips of 65-70 miles the limit of this vehicle IMHO. To be safe, if there was bad traffic or an emergency or detour then perhaps even 60 miles.
That's nuts.

What charging rate was that on ? I rarely fill up away from home but , for example , on a 50kw/h charger , starting at 50% it said over 2 hours to complete . Is that because after 80% the rate drops ? CCS charger.
Also something I never realised is that Ecotricity ration their electrons. You get 45 mins of charge and that's it. After that it wont let you pull any more.
I did not precondition as we had only just enough battery to get from A to B on this particular drive.
It was very cold I will admit, it was showing -7c when we set off.
Had to stop at the services to put some charge in as it was clear we were not going to make it.
The total round trip was 152 miles over 2 legs (out and inbound) with a slight detour on the way back to get electric which made it a smidge further.
On departure we had 100%, I forget the exact range it suggested I think it was 139 ish? I remember thinking OMG when I got in the car at 100% SOC only showing 140 ish miles.... (just to be clear I don't often drive the thing!)
On arrival after 76 miles we were down to 42%. We set off back (-7c) on 42% and we were down at mid 30% by the time we got to the first service station. Thankfully there was a free fast charger. 45 mins put it back to 69%. Total distance to run now 69 miles, and we arrived back on 20% with 22 miles showing remaining. (should have been 17 according to the computer so must have had a bit of regen along the way)
So overall we used about (by my maths) 115% charge to do roughly lets call it 160 miles. Or 1.39 miles per %.
This brings me back to 139 miles at 100% when we set off which is spooky to say the least.
Very disappointing tbh but very unusual for us to make a trip of this distance normally <20-30 miles per trip.

The most recent software update on mine created the 201 mile range display bug!
I have an hse with 20” wheels so anyone with 18” should be doing maybe 10% better than me - current achievable range is around 160-170 miles. Summer was 200. I could probably get as low as 140 in very very cold weather - managed equivalent to about 160 miles on trip to/from Edinburgh with temp generally 3-4 degrees but below 0 for 20 miles or so on way there when I was driving briskly.
Simon - do you have a charger at home? Slow charging to 100% can get more range (cell balancing)
It lives in work but sits on 13a socket so its almost always at full charge. This was the first time I have taken it any kind of distance.I have an hse with 20” wheels so anyone with 18” should be doing maybe 10% better than me - current achievable range is around 160-170 miles. From what I have read today I think the range we saw was fairly typical in very cold conditions with the heater on.
All I can tell you is my car is currently on 54 miles range which is 43%.
I am going to run it down to about 30% and then fully charge it again and see if it improves but I highly doubt it.
Its not a major problem as we don't do much mileage but if I had paid for it out of my own cold hard money (its a lease) then it would be going straight back to Jaguar and I would be asking for a full refund.
