A little bit of assistance required please...
I've seen a car I like. A3 e-tron, Sept 2017 (67 plate), 38g CO2/km etc. I was expecting the car tax to be Zero, but have since familiarised myself with the 2017 car tax changes, so now think it might be £135/year (Hybrid car rate). Still not a disaster. But what about the £40,000 so-called luxury tax threshold? I think the price when new was £36,455, but that may (and probably did) include a gov subsidy of £5,000 - meaning the actual list price was over the £40,000 threshold.
None of it is a deal breaker, but the maths need to add up!
Can anyone confirm?

Do you know the full reg? If so, bang it into here https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

If it has a date in the "Additional Rate applicable until" then it's subject to the 'luxury' car tax until that date.
I did, and it does eek

Any model I've tried with the half-leather interior seems to be subject to the lux tax. Ones with cloth interior are not.

I guess the half leather & alcantara option pushes the price over £40k.
